First mods to the Max
First mods to the Max
Well I've had my Max for just over 90 days now and have done some little things, probably won't go crazy since it is a lease. I had the windows tinted the day after I got it (35% up front and 20% on the rest). I found decent deal on a stillen intake so I picked that up and enjoyed it for a little while, still just a little too quiet for me, so I decided to do something with the exhaust. For fun I decided to unbolt the mufflers, well it actually sounded good so I decided to straight pipe it after the y pipe. I love how it sounds now, nice and throaty with just a little interior resonance around 2k rpm, other than that, pretty quiet.
May end up doing some wheels, we will see what the budget looks like this spring.

Reading through many of these threads it's hard to resist spending a ton of money modifying these cars. So far I've only done aesthetic mods ... but then again I haven't even had it a month.
Next up is a CAI.
I definitely agree with you on the decibel level ... nothing like a nice throaty tune to turn some heads.
But for some reason your vid doesn't seem to be working for me. I can get it on YouTube but the embedded vid gives me an error message.

Looking good! That's the same tint setup I've got--I like it.
Jig, a lot of people around here will tell you that aesthetic mods are the only ones worth doing to this car. To a certain extent, I agree with them. The car's performance is good enough before mods. But, performance mods will still make a nice difference. My advice is just to keep your expectations realistic, or even, low. Then, you'll be happy with each mod--performance and looks alike.
PS, if you want a true CAI you'll have to build it custom. The intakes straight out of a box are all short-ram intakes. Good for a small performance boost. More so about the sound though.

I'd like to think I have realistic expectations. Not looking to be the fastest or flashiest, just a little bit of individuality to set my car apart from stock, which BTW is already pretty slick.
Not too bad on the exhaust. I was expecting louder. I haven't been under mine yet to see what all is there but yours looks nice and clean at the rear.
Nice looking ride. Reminds me of the one setting in my garage, looks like your twin.

I've just made a few (very minor) aesthetic changes so far...but if I eventually get a perf mod it'll probably be a K&N Typhoon bolt-on. My Max isn't my main flat-out "speed" car...

It was definitely a lot louder when I didn't have the back portion on, it settled down quite a bit after putting the pipes on. I've already had a ton of compliments on it. Sounds really aggressive when I'm on it, but not too crazy when I'm just cruising, which I think is perfect, has a great little burble at idle.
This car definitely is not meant to be a big performance modding car from what I've seen, though I haven't read too much into how much people have tried to push the cvt. I was definitely just going for a little tiny bump in power and some sound.
That was definitely what I was going for. The nice thing is I can have my car completely back to stock in 20 minutes if need be.

Looking good man. Being the individual who spent a few thousand on the car..the more you invest, the more compliments you will get..and the nicer the ride will stand out from all others.
The Only Issues That I have experienced so far:
1) The Rear Creaking Suspension
2) The Motor on my Power Settings for the steering wheel broke
3) The Rattling of the stereo system
4) The way the car starts off slow, then out of no where goes fast
5) Quickly reversing and putting into drive shuts the car off
Everything else though is pretty awesome. You will enjoy this car besides those issues (which you may or may not) experience!
