New Maxima Owner. New to Forums. New to Modifications.

Hello community. I am really interested in modifying my car to make it my own. I've never done anything like this before. I bought http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Mercedes-Be...led_ddl_7e.htm
and would love to use them, but they are actually a little too big to fit. I figured I could shave them down a bit and use them, but I spoke with the company that sold me them, and they said I could return them for store credit whenever I want. Any ideas how to safely install them without destroying my car? Or does anyone else have other options for DRL's that would comfortably fit. I have a 2012 SV premium package.

Also, what are good sights to buy parts for the 7th gen maxima? I want good quality parts.

Welcome to the boards! So far that I've used are stillen, racingline performance, and AAM Competition. There's alot more!

Welcome to the forum. Everyone for the most part is very helpful, and I could state that because many have helped me..and I know a decent amount about our car/s.

You could shave it for sure, and mount it to a power source or straight to the battery. If you are going to other lighting or electrical mods, I do recommend the Pilot Wireless Switch. It runs about $40-50 Bucks. Check Amazon or Google Shopping. I believe there are other sites that you could use a LED strip to still have the same effect. If you live in a bad area however, I would recommend watching out, because people do steal these cool mods.

As for what sites/products/companies/etc you should be looking at:
- Racingline Performance
- CXJ Performance
- Stillen
- VLEDs
- UP Rev Tuning
- Eibach

Our cars are limited to the performance sector, but our cars are NOT limited to a cosmetic make up..shall we say? Say, You could do Tints, Lower the Suspension, Rims, Front Lip Spoiler, Roof, Sound System, Interior Illumination, etc etc.

Hope this helps! - MaxiGuido

I had to modify my car and my V-LEDs DRL to get them to fit. Was a pain, but I get a lot of compliments on how OEM they look in person.

Welcome to the forums! You could tap those directly to the battery or maybe the fusebox for DRLs. I tapped my LED emblem to my fogs. If you shave them, I'd consider sanding and repainting the housings after (just so they'll look nice).

As for mods, there's a lot of trusted/tested brands many on these forums choose. Sites? Can't say. I've had to deal with Stillen directly to get the lip spoiler and figured I'd grab the Eibach Pro Kit from them as well. I bought the rear spoiler with LED brake lights off a dealer on Ebay, pre-painted, ready for fitting and installation. LEDs to replace those 194s in the cabin are easy enough to do (Consider V-LEDs, but there are cheaper options as well). But yes, many options to make your car yours. Now that you've probably been bit by the bug, happy modding

That Pilot switch is intriguing, Guido. Nice tip!
