New to Forum

Hey guys im pretty new to the forum but had my maxima since 2010. i dont know why but i just started seeing all the mods that can be done to the maxima that made me start doing some to my car. During the summer kmoney hooked me up with some lights which looked sick. And i just got my stillen lip in today and my Polished Aluminum Billet Grille in. Going to post up some pics tomorrow after im done painting and installing them. Looking forward to see my max look as good as some of yours haha. Let me know what are some other possible mods that can be done as well thanks

yea i already painted i put some pics up look at the link i put up before... well for me when i painted it i did it differently because i decided to paint the whole bumper with it since i wanted it to be even and make it look new. So i had to sand, primer, sand, then paint i put a good amount of layers also use a respirator (not a mask) and have ventilation the Temperature and humidity control is also important. If you can, pick a day/time with low humidity, neither hot nor cold since it makes the paint harder to dry so pick the day with some sunshine lol

Thanks man...

Well when i ordered the grill i wanted to have something on it bc personally I'm not a fan with nothing on it so i looked around the forum and also saw how some ppl had the nismo logo so i looked around and bought one off of ebay and put it on the grill

Heres the link from where i bought it from..

Nice! What about paint brands/types that are good for urethane? Will I need to scrub down/hotbath the lip beforehand? I'll be doing some more research of course if I attempt this for the first time.

Unfortunately I don't have any professional equipment and it stays pretty hot and humid around here (except maybe at night, early morning) so this will be interesting.

Your car is slamming btw! Love the work you've done and Kmoney did an awesome job with those lights.

A sexy ride indeed.

Add a color? For what? Contrast or matching?

I've considered similar but more of a accent. Keep the stock Radiant Silver, Chrome, Black, but add a touch of red, either with Nismo stripes or Red hash marks.

I'm also a bit of a Mass Effect fan but more so like the N7 Motif, Red/White stripe on Black/Silver. Something like this would be cool, but something subtler.

Anyhoo, I doubt I'd actually do either but if I do any accent, it'll be subtle but impacting enough to let people know "that's Shipwreck's car."

How do you like those wheels? I was trying to find pics of a Maxima with them for awhile. You have any side angle shots?

Yea like an accent to the car i mean i like red but i just don't feel it would look as good with my color car then it would with others you know.

Ive seen the nismo stripes and i did really like them but the red is the only thing that hasn't really got me into it.

Def man im like that also. I want people to see my car and just know ohh its beastX's haha i just want it to stand out but without over doing it and ruining the car

A shade of orange (red-orange, according to the basic color wheel) or white would most likely complement your car's color (ocean blue?). You could probably get Nismo stripes custom done in white, black, and ocean gray. That would be awesome.

This article is pretty good regarding complementary colors.

DuPont has some good pointers regarding choosing colors as well.

You'll have to bend the spoiler a lil bit to make it fit. Try to not put it on take it off many times because the 3M loses its grip. Make sure you do it on a day thats somewhat not to cold or too hot. And make sure it doesn't rain because it could lose its grip as well. I had help from another Maxima user to hold the other side!
