Best tires for 2010 Maxima

Thinking of going with Michelin Primacy MXV4. Looking for the least road noise, highest treadwear and best traction.

Anyone concur or have other suggestions. My work pays for them, so the price isn't an issue.

If you could reply here and to bspann@comcast.net, I'd appreciate it.

You need to expand your criteria a bit. Do you live in the snow belt? What do you mean by best traction? Dry, wet, snow or all three? There are Ultra High Performance tires but they don't last long. However, if your job pays for them why are you worried about tread wear?

Talking Re: best tires

I live in the southeast, so snow and potholes are not a problem. I am looking for wet traction and a tread pattern that channels our killer rain storms for anti-hydroplaning.

I really want the least road noise possible.

Treadwear is important b/c I have to manage the budget regardless of who pays for the maintenance/parts.

Are the Michelin Primacy MX4Vs consistent with that?

P.S. at 52, STR8 Thuggin tires are for the younger crowd, yo.

You should ignore biased responses and use advise from reliable sources that thouroughly test the tires under controlled condition with test instrumentation by engineers. Consumers Reports (CR) fill that function. According to CR the "Continental PureContact(V)" is the top tire with the best wet braking, above average on all other criteria (except ice and snow) and good tread wear. The Michelin Primacy MXV4 don't score as well in hydroplanning and rolling resistance.

Actually - Tire Rack tested the Continental against the Michelin.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=166

The Michelin scored better in ride comfort, noise comfort and dry track, the Continental better in wet track. I recently put the Michelins on my car and have been very happy with them - though they are now in the garage in favor of winter tires.

I should also add that I have more happy with Michelin than any other brand I've used in terms of maintaining their performance characteristics throughout the life of the tire. Many tires are great when new - then lose much of their effectiveness, including noise attenuation, as they age.

What you are saying is correct and Consumer Reports and Tirerack test results are consistent and show that the continental are better in wet traction and wet braking. Otherwise the two tire are very similar in performance for summer conditions with the Michelin having a slight edge. This is why I recommentrded that because the most important criteria for the selection was;

"I live in the southeast, so snow and potholes are not a problem. I am looking for wet traction and a tread pattern that channels our killer rain storms for anti-hydroplaning." .
