LED turn signals and electronic flasher

Hi all, I'm new here. I have a 2012 SV and I am putting LED bulbs in my front and rear turn signals. I have seen other threads on this topic and everybody seems to do load resistors to maintain the slower flash rate. I have a new electronic LED flasher unit to instal instead but for the life of me I cannot find where the stock on is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The 7th gen doesn't have a traditional flasher anymore. Just like most electronic signals, the turn signals are controlled via the body controll module (BCM), which is basically a little input-ouput computer board. Therefore, the electronic flasher is not an option for the 7th gens, when converting to LED turn signals. That's why everyone has been using load resistors - it's the only viable option.

Well that explains why I couldn't locate it. Guess I'm going the resistor route. Thanks for the info.

yup, load resistors. use a pair of 3ohm if you have LEDs front/back for turn signals and use 6ohm for just front or just back

So I'm having a hard time finding 3 ohm resistors (out of stock everywhere I look). I am doing the front and rear turn signals. Can the 6 ohm be used in place of the 3? Sorry for the newb questions but I am really bad when it comes to electrical stuff.

You will have to use one 6ohm load resistor for every LED you put in. So if you replace the front lights, put a load resistor of 6ohms in parallel to the LED. Then if you replace the rear lights, put another 6ohm resistor in the rear.
The 3ohm load resistors save you from needing to place a 6ohm resistor in the front and rear when replacing both lights. Instead you simply put 3ohm in the front and replace both rear and front signals. Either way works though. 3ohm just means less wiring.

Correct

OP - check out v-leds.com thats where i got my load resistors
