2013 Rack and Pinion
Hey guys, new guy here, nice to me you all! I have a question, does a 2013 Maxima SV come with hydraulic or an electric rack and pinion?!
Im in a wheelchair from a car crash and need to use hand controls. Any info will be appreciated!! From pictures Ive looked at, it looks like hydraulic...can anyone confirm this? Thank you!

According to my 2012 owners manual, it says:
Going to get one? It's a very nice car. I love mine.
So I'm going to say you are correct, it uses a hydraulic system.
I doubt Nissan is going to suddenly change the car from a hydraulic system to a electric system in the middle of a generation year..

however Courtesy Parts only goes up to a 2009 model though, so some features are different.
The power assisted steering uses a hydraulic
pump, driven by the engine, to assist steering.
If the engine stops or the drive belt breaks, you
will still have control of the vehicle. However,
much greater steering effort is needed, especially
in sharp turns and at low speeds.
