Bully Dog Triple Dog GT Gas
Bully Dog Triple Dog GT Gas
I just bought me a 2010 Nissan Maxima and am looking at a couple of the forums and stumbles accross this guy, the Bully Dog Triple Dog GT Gas. My question is, is this worth the money and will i void any type of warranty when using something like this? I have 60k miles left on my warranty and dont wanna do anything that voids that but would love to get that extra horse power and gas mileage if possible. Thoughts?
Thanks!
Marcus

After 65 years of driving, I have yet to see any additive that has been proven to increase fuel efficiency by even 1 MPG. In fuel additive tests that are run regularly by various automotive publications, I have never seen where fuel efficiency improvement is ever found or proven. Also, despite a half-century of urban rumors to the contrary, even stepping to a higer octane, although possibly improving power slightly, will not improve our fuel efficiency.
My advice would be to save your money and stick with name brand fuels, and only the premium or midgrade octanes. Regular gas deprives this car of its smooth, uninterrupted power, especially on upslopes.

On another note if i wanted to get more performance out of the car would getting one of these tuners really benefit the car a lot? I found a huge forum discussion on this website via the search engine but never could find that anyone was getting any better results. What do you think?
I appreciate the advice! I was talking to the friend of mine that is the head repairman at the Nissan dealer in town and he said i really need to make sure im going to gas stations with the least amount of ethanol which is similar to what you are saying.

Having driven for over 65 years, I have gradually become 'old school', in that I now just go with whatever power the car has. I am even wary of factory production power boosting things like superchargers, because I know that extra power puts more force on every part of the drive train, including engine and tranny, and I like my cars to last over 200K miles with no problems.
But I remember my youth, and I remember striving for anything extra in the performance area I could get. I'm sure there are many younger folks here who should be able to help us with your tuner question.
Anyone?
