Add USB to 2009

I just picked up a 2009 SV Premium and I tried to search for this topic.. maybe my keywords are off but I couldn't find too much about trying to put a USB in a 2009 Maxima versus the specialty ipod input/cord that comes with the vehicle.

Has this been done? Is it as simple as getting parts from a 2010+ model?

Thanks in advance

An adapter is out there but I couldn't find one on eBay without digging...check this out http://www.made-in-china.com/showroo...r-LP-018-.html

Have you considered an old beat up iPod that's dedicated to the connection and can be left in the console?

I guess just a simple cord is a lot easier. I have an old ipod that stays in the car but I'd just like the convenience of being able to hook anything up to it via USB when the time comes.

But thanks for getting the link, having both USB and AUX from the same adapter is perfect

you can do what I did and get a Blackberry Stereo Gateway (essentially enables Bluetooth Audio in your car) and use a phone to stream Pandora or whatever. I sold my iPod cause I never use it anymore, transferred my music to Google Music in the cloud and just stream everything.

Are you talking about adding a USB to charge your phone? I have a 2011 and the only input I could find is the AUX input on the stereo. Is there another input somewhere?

Might be a silly question but how do you connect the Blackberry Stereo Gateway to the Max since it only has the Ipod specific input and the audio/video inputs only work in park if I'm not mistaken?

I've been debating whether to try a Ratoc or SolarExpress CF to USB adapters. Whilst originally made for the PDA era, they may actually work. (There may be a few other ones out there...try google "compact flash usb host") I used to have a Ratoc back in the day with my old HP PDA but don't know where I put it! (It is hell getting old!)
