New AAM Exhaust on My 2011 Maxima SV

I've finally pulled the trigger and purchased the AAM Exhaust. Its not 100% aligned with the bumper - but AAM is working on making it right!

In the meantime here is a couple of pictures and a quick video clip I took yesterday after the install was complete.

This is on my wish list for this year. Are they fixing the design on the new model or just for your car?

I actually like the exhaust sticking out a bit. It gives it a custom look.

It seems like only this one is not centered w the cut out in the bumper (leaning more towards the sides). All the other ones including the one they show on their site is perfectly centered.

Unfortunately even w a jig anything man made isn't perfect. The titanium tips were a must!

You will def be extremely happy w this setup. I know I'm lovin' it!

What's the perceived power increase (butt-dyno) telling you?
Also I don't see a Y-pipe listed on your mods. Do you plan on installing one?

It's an approx 12.24+ hp and 6.58+ torque gain.

I don't have a y-pipe installed yet. Thinking about picking up one but not sure when yet.

congrats bud!

I see you couldn't wait to install it in dead of winter. I'm itching to install mine also. I have the racingline y-pipe just beware that you may have to readjust your setup if you install this. As reported people with the y pipe encountered some issues with fitment.

Thanks man! Yea I know about the fitment issues w the racingline y-pipe hence why I was surprised about the fact that I'm having a minor fitment issue with the stock y-pipe.

Bruh I couldn't wait anymore - it got delivered Monday and I was itching all week for Saturday to be here so I could get this installed lol.

Looks awesome, sounds awesome. My only problem with a exhaust on this car (I guess any cvt) is lack of running through the revs. Can you do a new video just holding it at 3k rpms for 10 seconds at a time so I can see what every stop light would sound like?

Thanks man when I hear that I feel like I'm waiting to hear hear a shift but never do haha. I'm sure you're tire of posting videos but an in cab would be cool, or just description if it sounds like droning when it stays at same rpm during accel or what

Another dude who is on the 7th Gen Facebook page [LINK] posted a video of it while he was driving. You should join the group if you are not already in it.

Here is the link to the video - not sure if it will work though

[QUOTE=2themax11;8715631]I've finally pulled the trigger and purchased the AAM Exhaust. Its not 100% aligned with the bumper - but AAM is working on making it right!

So to start your new exhaust sounds the best I've heard outside of custom and the titanium tips look great.
What I'm not quite loving is the fitment issue.
It's a lot of $$ to spend and not have it align correctly.
If I may inquire what is AAM doing to FIX your alignment issue?
As a certified aerospace weld and tooling inspector I need to question AAM's current fabrication process and end item verification as I might purchase this product in the future.
Thanks for any follow-on info you can provide.

Sup man - thanks for the compliments. Unfortunately anything man made even with a jig sometimes will not be 100%. AAM is doing the right thing. They will take a look at the exhaust that I received and actually replace it with a new one that they are in the process of fabricating and installing it themselves on the car so its 100% correct. Looks like everyone else that purchased one didnt have issues with the fitment and this looks to be just a one off issue.

You are right - it is alot of $ to spend and it should fit 100% correctly. I was blown at first but like I said - AAM is doing the right thing here and will have the issue resolved in a month or so. If you are looking to purchase one - dont let this be the deal breaker - its an amazing setup.

Did you have any fitment or alignment issues with the aftermarket ypipe?
If you have a aftermarket ypipe that is?
