New AAM Exhaust on My 2011 Maxima SV
Sup man - thanks for the compliments. Unfortunately anything man made even with a jig sometimes will not be 100%. AAM is doing the right thing. They will take a look at the exhaust that I received and actually replace it with a new one that they are in the process of fabricating and installing it themselves on the car so its 100% correct. Looks like everyone else that purchased one didnt have issues with the fitment and this looks to be just a one off issue.
You are right - it is alot of $ to spend and it should fit 100% correctly. I was blown at first but like I said - AAM is doing the right thing here and will have the issue resolved in a month or so. If you are looking to purchase one - dont let this be the deal breaker - its an amazing setup.

As for specifics on what is thrown off alignment with the y-pipe, i really don't know, most of the guys who had issues did not really go in depth of it.
Thanks,
It will probably be a while before someone sells one of these "used". For me the price was OK - I knew what I want and what I was getting.. You gotta pay to play...LOL

Already reported that people with Racingline y-pipe did have issues with AAM exhaust. I bought out at the end of the year last year, and it is still sitting in the box. I also have the y-pipe and I'm expecting it to have issues when I install it. Since I don't have access to a shop to do the work myself I'm just going to pay someone to put it one and see how things go.

Just a heads up for those that may not think to ask.....
I was 5 minutes from placing an order with Khoi and asked a fitment question.
He responded and said AAM will not guarantee fitment between the AAM exhaust and the Racingline y-pipe, he didn't specify further on why this was.
They will work with you on fitment issues on a stock (y-pipe) exhaust though.
My one issue with AAM is they should make this fact known prior to purchase via their website.
On my car the RL y-pipe bolted to the stock Nissan pre-cats and did not alter the aft stock exhaust fitment what so ever.
Now I will say I did hear of one OP having an (excessive) length issue with a RL y-pipe.
Very true, no exhaust system is the same be it stock or aftermarket.
So all things being equal the AAM exhaust should bolt right into place with a stock y-pipe or with a previously installed and unmodified RL y-pipe and not cause back end fitment issues.
P.S.
Khoi was very helpful, just give him a call with any questions.
