You got me. Where is the reference from?
That's all you needed to say Shipwreck!

Ask any racer, any real racer. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning's winning!

Awooooooooo

And I can't believe i didn't get the reference because I seen each of those movies over 10x Each. Vince says that lmao..Nobody likes the Tuna!

Get the crap out of the car. Find a day when it's about 50F outside. Disable the TC. Put the car in D and floor the pedal past the stop.

There's an argument to be made for a slightly softer launch (so you won't trigger the torque limiter) or using Ds to pop the revs and shifting to D before you reach the end of 'first'. To the extent either method helps, it won't be more than a tenth or two.

honestly there is nothing you can do short of adding a turbo, an SC, nitrous and all the other things (legitimate things, not the can of tuna--lol) you can do that will make this car go faster.
The Achilles Heel of this car is the CVT.

im not that experienced with 0-60 but i usually turn off tc, hold down the brake, accelerate to build up revs then let go of the brake, i dont time it but it feels alot faster

^ on an auto tranny doing such (if not equipt w/ launch control) all your doing is killing your tq converter while straining the engine and motor mounts... But keep it up!

And trying to achieve the best 0-60 times isn't straining?

brake launching stresses many parts of the car. many more parts than simply trying to accelerate quickly...

you guys are going to destroy your cars trying to make them race cars. this is coming from someone with full bolt-ons and about to get tuned. take it for what it is, if its not fast enough go buy another car dont waste your time and your car trying to get another 1/10 of a second out of it. most of the people i know who are notorious aggressive drivers are already on their second CVT trans.

this has been debated endlessly but years ago some guys went to the track and found that D consistently got the best times. simply put the computer can shift better than you can, and Ds just is higher revs not faster speed. its somewhere buried in this forum...

Stat wise you should be about the same as a V6 Mustang, depending on your launch.
