Brakes squeal with 20's

My brakes squeal something awful when slightly depressing my brake pedal (when slowing down to come to a stop). The brakes did not make this noise when I had my factory 18's on, only with my 20's. Is this possibly due to larger wheel size/weight? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

How many miles are on those pads? Did it just start doing it or did it do it from the get go? Any vibration in the pedal?

If the pads have life in them, then run to the auto parts store and pick up some "Brake Squeal" and apply it. It cost like 1.50. And see if that does anything.

If Pads dont have life, its time for a break job. Keep in mind cold weather also make brakes squeal.

I never understood the brake squeal stuff, isn't it bad to put lubricant essentially on the pad where it needs to grip the rotor?

OP - good question. It could be related to the heavier wheels but I'm not sure. How many miles you have on the current pads?

It goes where the pad meets the piston in the caliper. At least the stuff I use, if it was to go on the rotor, I'd be out on that.

That sounds a lot safer. Same place the regular brake grease went basically.

Yea it's just a " thinner" compound that break grease.

This, I doubt it was due to the larger wheels!

The brakes started squealing as soon as the 20's were put on. It happened last April when I originally got the 20's and again when I put them back on last month. The brakes didn't squeal with my factory wheels mounted.

Ok so they always squeal then when they are on? What brand rims did you get? Do they need to use Hub Centric Rings?

Running out of ideas here if its not the pads/rotors.

brake dust...dirt..moisture all are components for the squeaks...now the squaking is not between the pad and the rotor, but pad and the caliper!
To the OP i dont believe wheel size/brand etc has to do anything with it, unless with the larger wheels there is a bigger accumilation of the dirt etc..
