Ipad mini

From the guy who brought you the unfinished post "Nissan Maxima S plus Iphone Equals......"

I totally dropped the ball with that one. I had some important things that came up and I totally forgot I left some people hanging. I felt I needed to share this last setup. I sold the car. I worked over 50 hours getting the audio to sound amazing but in the end I had too many little issues with the vehicle. Please dont judge. Im here to share what I have learned about the audio aspect of the car.

So I'm here to share my last little project and offer anyone with questions an answer. I will be here for a while to help anyone with info on how and what to do if they need help with this setup.

Its an Ipad Mini LTE in a custom mold. It was my first run with the vinyl.

This is pretty sweet and looks great for your first run with vinyl. I'm guessing the AC screen is still in the glove box. What about the header unit and equalizer you had from your previous thread? Were those relocated? Any words of insight before attempting something like this?

I recently installed a powered sub into my Maxima S (non-bose), a Sound Ordnance B-8P. The factory subs have been tapped for high level inputs. It hits hard and quite nicely but I feel like I'm missing a lot of lower end/frequency bass. I just want a full sound and frankly the factory setup was pretty close. I'm thinking of a good receiver to install and have been shopping around but loved the idea of installing an eq like you did in your setup, but also wondering how much of the voice calling I would be compromising (i.e. factory bt unit replaced/removed, etc). The top screen would likely be replaced with a tablet. I think you missed out on a discussion regarding installing a tablet in the screen area. Tiger2380 slapped one in there permanently and it seems to be working nicely (I would've liked a less permanent option... and still working on my mount idea ala SoundMan).

Anyway, I know that's a lot but all I'm asking for is insight. Thanks for coming back and sharing!

Shipwreck- Not hard just need patience. I did not find it difficult to make this since I got the idea from youtube videos and from other forums. My mount was made to work with magnets and fit snug. It was not permanent and was actually hard wired instead of bluetooth audio. I was able to get it to charge and send digital audio to my kenwood X996. I was able to remove with a suction cup at night if I wanted to.

For eq, I actually had two. Let me explain.

From the radio I used Front Outputs to an Audiocontrol DQT, then to the Zapco EQ/Line Driver. This Line Driver sent out 16volts of awesome sound. NO NOISE at all. I was able to tweak everything. I had probably 100 hours of tweaking, switching speakers, brands, and sizes.

I ended up with
3.5 jl in front dash
A/D/S 345i Tweeters in the Sails of the front doors.
8" Dynaudio woofers in the front doors. MAN THOSE WERE AWESOME!
6.5" Focal Mids in the back doors.
6.5" Dynaudio components in the rear deck.

All the highs were ran with 6 channels of Zapcos.

I also made a custom box facing forward with two HERTZ Mille's. This thing pounded and sounded amazing.

Im tired so I think I can answer better tomorrow. As for the AC display here you go.

That's one heck of a setup! I'd love to hear what pros and cons you found doing this.
