Installation instructions: http://www.stillen.com/prodfiles/402974~inst.pdf

Keep in mind the Stillen intake is one of the few that can throw a CEL on the Maxima cause the MAF is not in the right spot. Stillen sells an adapter kit to help fix this; but most people just go for a different intake like the Injen or R2C.

I see. Which one do you have and would you recommend it?

I have a custom one but I had Injen on my last ride and they use kick-*** Amsoil filters. The R2C is cool cause it comes with a big shroud to try to block heat (does an okay job of it) and a nice filter. In the end they're all just metal tubes with filters on the end.

The installation isn't where a screw-up can happen; it just seems to be hit or miss with the design of the intake. That's why Stillen's "fix" is a spacer kit to adjust where the MAF sensor sits. I'd definitely recommend installing yourself, it's a great first project especially to learn a little about the car with.

Agreed, I say do it yourself also, and save the money, its a pretty straight forward install...GOOD Luck, if you decide to give it a shot...

Third that. Get your hands dirty--it's a good project. Bond with your car for a bit. Feels good to DIY. If you get caught up we'll help you.

Atta boy! You'll enjoy it. If you're on facebook, join the facebook group. That's a good way to get help quickly if you get stuck in the middle of a project--responses will be a bit quicker there. Either way, feel free to ask questions if you need to. Good luck bro!

You CAN do it and with this "redesigned" intake, I have yet to throw a code and I have been using for last 7 mos. I was even able to install without removing my strut tower bar. Not difficult at all.

Niice! Just read everything, take your time, and document what you do (just in case you need to go back a step or two).

And remember: pics or it didn't happen!

You should be able to do it yourself with little to no problem. I've installed similar intakes on my lat 3 vehicles and helped a couple of buddies. No special tools needed, just time and patience as some MAF sensors don't have screws holding them in, but rather O rings that can be a PITA to get back in.

Like shipwreck pointed out... Pics or it didn't happen.
