allow me to introduce myself

Hey everyone! Just picked up a 2010 maxima sv this saturday.iv been lurking around for a few days and figgured it was time to say hi..

First impressions of the car are
(the good)---all the tech stuff..2 sun roofs, leather seats, powerfull v6, navi, back up cam, nice stereo, best auto transmission ever..i cant say enough about the cvt. I hated auto trans because they are always searching for the right gear when you hit the gass. But this cvt is freaking awsome.

(the bad)--- suspension is really squishy, too much body roll, fwd, hardly any after market parts. Kind of a common car.

Iv been moddifying cars my whole life. My last 2 cars were a mazdaspeed3 (tune-intake-forge bov-cat back exhaust 18lbs boost)..........and a nissan 240sx with a blacktop sr20det motor swap witheagle connecting rods and cp 9/5/1 pistons, and an s15 sylvia front end conversion with cabonfiber hood, meggan turbo manifold, fuel pressure reggulator, welbro 255 fuel pump, 3inch turbo back exhuast, custom intake, koyo radiator, custom front mount intercooler, hks boost controller, lithium light weight battery. Both cars were over 300hp to the wheels.the 240sx was closer to 400...man i miss that car!

Here are some pics to show what im all about

Congratulations on your new car. I recently installed the Eibach Pro Kit. It made a very noticeable improvement in the handling department. At this point I'm debating whether or not to get a rear sway bar. I don't want to make the ride too stiff.

Thanks for the congrats.....Ya, i think im going to go with front and rear sway bars as my first modds...i really didnt want to drop the car and sacrafice the smoth ride. But coming from my mazdaspeed3 which stuck to curves in the road like glue, this current suspension in the maxipadd is unexceptable.i dont feel confident takng corners at high speeds at all.

I only have found a few companys that make sway bars, what is everyone running out here?

stillen and racingline make a rear sway bar, there's no aftermarket front available though. id go rear sway and eibachs it drastically improved handling and body roll

Welcome, nice other rides... You won't be disappointed with the ride quality of the Eibachs and the rear sway, I even have the front strut tower bar, and I love the way my car handles...

Thanks for the warm welcome... I personaly think CVT is the sh#t....best auto transmission i have ever used. Smooth acceleration, no gear hunting..im not trying to make this car a race car so i can care less about the cvt providing accurate dyno numbers, or not holding large amounts of tq and hp. Im past all that in this stage of my life.

.ill be ordering the strut tower and rear sway bar this weekend........as soon as my hks blow off valve, and forge blow off valve, 18in rims+tires, hypertech mazdaspeed tune, and some other crap sells on craigs list i can go ahead and really get sh*t done with the maxipadd...iv got big plans

By the way.. MaximaGuido09c, and ghozt, your cars look fantastic. Love the stillen lip. And drop....this is what the maxima should have looked like out the factory.

this pretty much nails it in terms of assessing the CVT. its awesome for a daily driver, so damn smooth. never designed to rock you back in your seat, but who got the Maxima for that anyway, we were all looking for that compromise of power/comfort/luxury/price. and like you mentioned when you slap a couple mods in there (drop, rims, lip) it really makes the car stand out.

my initial mod list had just an intake and sound system on it. because of this damn site and seeing other sick looking Maximas like 1sik4dsc (Google it, he's the OG of Maxima's) I ended up doing a little bit more than that...

You know it ghozt. My initial mod list was nothing more than a tint. This forum has been hell on my wallet cuz I can't stop modding. Lol

Very well put.

I've had four Maximas, enjoyed them all. Even more after some light modifications.

So,so true. When it came time to buy a new car, i couldnt find anyother car that met these 4 criteria...and ill add two more to that list ---looks, and age of the car..only 3 years old in my case. Evey other car i was looking at under $22,000---audi s4 (not new enough, not reliable, no real tech options) lexus is 350 (way over priced, older, usually higher millage) or g37 ( for under 22k you got absolutly no tech options, just leather seats, and usually higher millage)....the choice was ez for me to make..

Funny thing is after i test drove the maxipadd, i went over to test a g37 auto...all i could think about while driving the g37 was "Damn, i wish this had the cvt tranny the maxima had"
