2012 Lease
2012 Lease
So I leased a fully loaded Maxima in early March of 2012. Frankly, I'm bored of it. Miss the manual transmission that I had prior to the Maxima. So I'm about 13 months in to a 39 month lease. Anyone ever get out of a lease this early without HUGE penalties? I'm also about 1500 miles over where I should be. Doesn't sound like a great situation but hoping for any advice from someone that's been in a similar situation.
I'm not sure if it's just a New York state thing, but we can trade our leases in at any time. It's just unlikely that the trade-in value of the car will be more than your payoff (which you can call and ask for, or I believe you can find on the nissan finance website if you log into your account).
I am in the same situation, coming from a honda, this car has limited mods and tuning. Rides so nice though.
I talked to them about getting a sentra for a DD and then a used 350z or something, but I would lose too much on the car after only a year. I traded my wife's previous lease in and took a hit, not sure if I want to do that again.

It's the same thing as trading in a purchased car. Find out what the buyout is from NMAC or whoever your bank is. Then get your trade in priced out. If its worth it to get rid of it, I leased mine in Sept 11 and I don't have any equity. I also did a $0 down lease. It probably isn't worth it. Try working something out with actual numbers with the dealer you bought it from. Don't let the dealer tell you they are adding your payments to your new car. They only thing they add is the negative equity amount, say $5000 over another 39 month lease or whatever.
