CVT/Slip indicator light

I am having some major headaches with my CVT OFF indicator light and my Slip indicator light coming on at various times while driving, it doesn't happen all the time but both of them pop on quite often, car is running fine. it's just those damn lights keep coming on. Does anyone know what kind of warrenty this would be covered under? I own a certified pre-owned 2009 SV with sport and tech package.

Thanks

Og

Brake pads might be getting low if they have never been replaced. It usually has to do with the level of the brake fluid so it may just be as simple as a quick top up.

Yes. Per the owner's manual, this combination of lights is the signal that the brake fluid has reached the 'add fluid' mark of the brake fluid reservoir.

The fact the lights go on and off is because the fluid has barely reached that 'add fluid' line, so, depending on whether the fluid is sloshing forward or rearward with acceleration and braking, the lights come on and go off.

When adding brake fluid, be very careful to wipe everything off before opening the cap, and be extremely careful to avoid knocking any dirt or grime into the reservoir.

EDIT - As info, the 7th gen Maxima uses DOT-3 brake fluid, which is the most common type, available at any convenience store, supermarket, auto parts store or WalMart, etc. It is not expensive, but does not keep well once the seal is broken, so I tend to get a new can whenever I add fluid to my car, which is usually only once every two or three years.
