So far the best mpg I have gotten is 23.2 but my average speed was only 28 mph. This Max just wants to run but its hard to keep your foot out of it. I'm trying to do a lot of coasting to stop signs. What kind of mpg are you guys getting?

 

I bought mine with 26k and it was at 22.2. I have 30k miles now and its at 24.4 and it is still rising. I do mostly highway. Average speed is slowly climbing as well.

My 04 Max I usually averaged around 24.6 mpg.

 

2012 with 19k miles. Mild driving with a few short sprints. Quite a bit of highway driving 75-80mph.

I have a '10 with 53,000 miles. My mpg is 22.1 and avg speed is 28.1 mph. I live in Vegas so I drove 50% city and 50% highway

 

On cross country trips with average speed of 67 MPH I get 28MPG

 

Those must be some slow cross country trips Haha!

I have a '10 with 89k miles and throughout the week I'm usually getting about 24.2 using Shell 93 gas.

 

About 20mpg in streets and 25 on the freeway. Car is fun to drive though

 

After 205,000 miles..90% highway commuter, I average about 27MPG. Higher in winter when the AC isnt running and lower in summer when it is.

 

I get 28-29 on highway, speeds 55-70. RSA's inflated to specs, 92 octane, no cruise control unless the terrain is flat. On highway I try and keep the RPM's around 2000-2200. Combine city highway is about 22-23.

 

I pretty much do both highway and city driving. I drive her pretty hard no matter the situation and I get about 20MPG average

 

mostly city driving, all stock I was seeing 18 mpg. with all my bolt-ons and no tune i was getting 16 mpg. now with my tune im seeing about 20 mpg. a pure highway trip (reset once on the highway) I averaged 33 which was really nice

2011 with 28800 miles and all around city and hiway, run close to 22 mpg. on the hiway alone it gets close to 25=27,

 

2011 bought new in 2012, just turned 15000 miles today, the computer from day one says I am averaging 22.5 for my ownership. Last tank i computed the mileage at 23.8. Mainly stop and go trips with an occasional longer trip.

 

Hello. Not use to my Maxima yet. I live in Canada. And. I was used to getting 7.1L/100 with my 06 Altima 3.5@120kmPerhour. I don't know if my Max is suppost to only get 8.9L/100 even @ 100km. I find it the rpm is over 2000 @. 100km have always had Nissan. 93sentra/99altima/01maxima/06 Altima 3.5. Now my 10 max and advice is very welcome plz

 

09 w/ 64k miles.

I average 24.5 mpg (calculated, not dash computer), and my computer average speed is 48 mph

 

2012 with 24.2 mpg... i really dont speed as much as i did with my previous cars but i can tell she wants to get loose

I drive with a lead foot too much for my own good. On my midnight commute home, I'm usually doing 80+MPH quite often and the MPG display bounces between 20. 5 and 21.2. (includes some city driving)

 

2012 with 30,000 gets 27 mpg mostly highway.

About 22. Commute is mostly highway but through a city with slow downs almost every day, especially the ride home. Usually does not come to a complete stop. Maximize milage by leaving plenty of room in front so I can coast down more than brake and just lightly reaccellerate.

Annoyance is that dash mileage shows at least 2 mpg higher than real calculated mileage. Had-the same thing in my 5th gen. You'd think they'd have rhe calibration dialed in a little closer by now. Wish there was an owner bias adjustment which would leat me tweak it closer to real mpg.

 

09 with 45k, about a 50/50 highway/city mix and I avg 23-24.

 

I just made the trip fromNY to Montreal 419 miles on a single tank of gas (Avg speed around 70 MPH) and still had the needle just above the E. I figure I could have gone another 50 miles or so before hitting E. Now if only I could get that kind of mileage during city driving.

 

i always try to fill up when I'm around 1/4 tank full. you don't want to pull any of the sediment/crap into your engine that collects at the bottom of the gas tank over time

 

To add to what Ghozt just said, it is not a good idea to run the tank low, as the fuel pump is inside the gas tank, and depends on being immersed in fuel to keep from overheating. That is why Nissan has the fuel tank gauge read 'empty' with around four gallons still in the tank.

Remember that the number of miles you go on a tank of gas has no connection whatsoever with 'gas mileage', 'fuel efficiency' or 'MPG'. Those are all measured by the number of MILES PER GALLON. No other way of measuring gas mileage has any true meaning.
