LED bulbs on a lease?
LED bulbs on a lease?
Hi, all, new member here, I just leased a '13 Maxima SV last weekend, and I want to fill it up with LED bulbs, but I want to make sure that it's not gonna break the terms of the lease or anything.
Presumably, I could do the easy interior bulbs (overhead, maps, puddles, visors, etc) without too much trouble, since those don't require any sort of "modification," and I could easily keep the original bulbs in a plastic baggie for 3 years and put them back in before I turn it in, if they did want to get jumpy about it.
I'm really more interested in the LED turn signals, though, both front and back, and maybe LED fog lights as well. Best I can figure, doing LED turn signals is going to require resistors being spliced into the existing wires, is that correct? And I would imagine that's the part that's going to be against the lease terms, right? Is there a reversible way to do this? Does someone make a bulb with built-in resistors so I don't have to do stuff to the wiring to make it work? Is it something they wouldn't even notice or care about if I did make that mod? Its not so much that I'm lazy (ok, well, I'm kinda lazy), I just don't want to do anything that's gonna cost me a bunch of money or get me in trouble if/when I turn it in.
Thanks in advance for any advice. I tried searching the forums, didn't see any post with this specific issue, please let me know if there was a better place I should have posted this.
