Best HID Kit
Best HID Kit
Hey guys i have an 09 maxima, I searched around old forums for the Best HID kit out their. I saw people were saying retrofitsource.com or Carid.com or DDMtuning.com Im looking to get HID headlights/Fogs. What does everyone think and/or recommend. Thanks!

I emailed them and they said: Thanks for the inquiry! I'll need a bit more information about your Maxima to make a proper recommendation here. Is your Nissan a factory HID vehicle? If not then D2S equipment isn't going to be compatible, and you'd need a different system than that particular kit
Let them know if you have Xenon or Halogens. I assume since you want to do this you have halogens. The reason they need to know has to do with the bulbs, they have different mounts.
I purchased from them as well. Overall I am happy. My passenger side ballast isn't getting enough juice so it flickers some. Not real bad, but it does annoy me so I will be installing the relay soon so it won't be an issue. I suggest installing that from the start and avoid possibly having that issue which appears to happen fairly often on our vehicles.

Do any of you use cancellers?
UPDATE:
I bought a kit from HID nation....BAD IDEA! Terrible company...., hid kit and relay and harness are totally different from the picture shown...Sent me the HID kit and it none of its compatible with each other or the car. I called and the guy was arguing me like im blind and cant see the cords.. Send he would send me a new kit, which he tells everyone, same story and negative reviews on the better business bureau. Looks like i will be going to retrofit. Unless anyone else has a different place

I second theretrofitsource recommendation. I just got bulbs from there and they're incredible. I wouldn't bother with an HID kit for the high beams unless you do a significant amount of travelling that you use your high beams for.

UPDATE: alright guys, since i had some spare time and had the CRAPPY kit from HID Nation, i went along and jerry rigged my own kit out of the supplies. The kit they gave me didnt have a wire to connect to the factory harness so i spliced up my own and my also ran an extra wire to connect to the cancelor too, i got it to work. The connectors they gave me also to connect to the ballast were not meant but that ballast so i ran to radio shack and made my own connectors. I now got it to work and will post up pictures later tonight. DEF do NOT buy this kit, it works, but you basically run all your own wiring and make your own harnesses. NOT plug and play
