Saw this on My7thGen Bully Dog
There was a member on there who was doing this a year or two ago. He was selling a +2/+4 in timing for $20 for those who really cant afford it just yet (I fall into that category).
I want to know if anyone here is willing to do this for me (maybe turn it into a little side business, lol)..
I'm in Merrick, Long Island, NY (South Nassau County) I'll come to you if you are willing to do this for me. I'll go as far as the five boroughs and anywhere on Long Island.
I would love to see if the timing advance is worth the money to get one myself.
Please contact me at 516-449-4559 (leave message if no answer)
Or email Dvarela@fuelsem.com, or a private message here.
Thanks!!

Honestly I don't think the 2 degree timing advance was worth it overall; I don't recall actually feeling any difference. I'd finish your performance mods then get an Uprev tune which includes a HUGE timing advance (stock ECU can't retain more than 17 degrees). I've never heard anyone who got the BullyDog say it was a good investment.

the stock ECU won't hold 19 degrees (+4), it only holds + or - 2 degrees from the stock 15. I'm just speaking from my personal experience, I drove away from the dealership after paying them an hour of labor for the 2 degree advancement and felt like it was a waste of both my time and money. The bully dog is more of a toy, it seems to be marketed as a tuning tool but it is far from that. The Uprev is permanent yup. If you can find someone to charge $20 for the 2 degree timing advance go for it; but I wouldn't pay any more than that or waste money on a Bullydog.

you're talking about the TCM re-program that gives slightly better acceleration in low RPMs but lowers mileage, that's the transmission - unrelated. and yeah I also had this Nissan TSB applied for the TCM re-program.
Hey Ghozt, where can you purchase an Uprev for our cars?!

as of right now i dont think uprev standard is available for us so that you can tune at home. right now the only option is to go through an uprev tuner. price for the license is $300 (they can't negotiate this) + cost of dyno tune which at the place I went to, Hill's Garage, cost $350.
the uprev tune is by FAR the best thing I've done in terms of how much i feel it, as an individual "mod". @5000 RPMs I saw gains of 24 HP and 25 ft/lbs of torque, which was the largest difference in the powerband. @6000 RPMs, which is right before the CVT starts interfering with stuff, I saw gains of 18 HP and 12 ft/lbs of torque which are roughly the gains I saw throughout the rest of the power band too. if you have full bolt-ons, this is something you will definitely feel. also my mileage went up from 15.5 to 19.5 mpg - awesome.
