Smile Passenger Mirror issue..

I recently had to replace my driver side mirror. I've notice now that when i put the car in reverse the mirror goes down much lower then the driver side. Is there any way to calibrate the mirror or am i stuck with this?

much appreciated..

My passenger side doesn't go down as far. I would like to know as well.

I'd say it's normal. My Max and Lexus GX's passenger side mirrors both go down considerably further than the driver side mirrors.

Both my mirrors go down at the same time, at the same rate, and the same distance. They also go back to the original setting in the same manner.

I turn this feature off during the winter when ice and freezing conditions may screw up the function.

I have done a write up on this. eventually you will notice the mirrors will go all the way down, or in towards the center of the vehicle depending on which circuit is failing, and start clicking. They use a resistance circuit to determine when to stop. If you want to temporarily fix it, put the mirror where you want them and re-save your settings to either your #1 or #2 memory. This will work until they deteriorate further. Moisture is the issue, Nissan used a crappy o-ring, that will crack, to seal the two halves of the plastic that encase the circuit. If you can find a way now to better seal it you will be better off. My passenger side has been giving me issues for the better part of a year, my drivers side just started this week. I have a 2010 with 85K. Unfortunately replacing just this circuit seems to be a crap shoot. My local dealer can't guarantee that I am ordering the correct part as there is no detailed diagram indicating what the number is, or so they claim, so I can take an $80 gamble and find out but I can just live with disabling the automatic mirror movements since I am the one driving the car 99.9999% of the time and the position is always the same.

Anyways best of luck, they will fail at some point, but hopefully later rather than sooner.
