Ordering OEM Parts Online

Hey Everyone,

I got a 2011 Maxima SV and I need to replace the brake pads and rotors. I've been looking around my hometown, Calgary Alberta, but the parts and labour are hovering around $1300.

I'm looking at ordering the part online but I don't know who to order them from. I've seen a few Nissan OEM on-line stores but I've never ordered from them so I'm a little skeptical.

Can any one give me a good on-line place where I can order my rotors for my Maxima? I'm hoping there are a few Canadians out there who have ordered Nissan part online and can give me insight into the possible additional fees like duty and taxes.

Thanks!

$1300 is way too much. Some dealers have internet web pages with different prices, you can check that avenue.

I hear you on Canuck prices. Dealers here in Canada charge a little more for the same parts for our cars than U.S. Nissan Dealers.

For example, I was getting prices for a "Drain and Fill" on my CVT transmission to do it it myself. For 1 quart of CVT fluid it is 30.00 CAD here in Canada. So if we need 5-6 quarts. It will cost us 180.00 + taxes = 203.00 for the fluid alone.

It is nutz..

The install isn't my problem. I have a buddy who is a mechanic with BMW but he's having a problem finding good rates on my parts. I'm just not to sure of ordering from sites such as:
factory Nissan parts
Nissan part zone
etc.

I did find another aftermarket company that do make rotors and provide free brake pads, which isn't always a good thing.

Does anyone have experience or an opinion on ordering parts on-line?

I really wished buying auto parts online was more like buying socks.

I used to live in Calgary and remember being ripped off on the brokerage fees from Fedex and UPS. I tried to get vendors in the US to ship USPS, which switches to Canada Post when it crosses the border. You only pay the duty and tax, no brokerage going that way.

Check www.parts.com , I used to buy my benz parts from them. Even with shipping and all applicable fees, I saved quite a bit going through them.

Also, I'm pretty sure the vendors here on maxima.org will give you good deals...

Thanks for the tip Big H. I'll definitely get the company to ship with USPS. About the vendors on here, where would I locate them? Is there a forum?

Thanks again for your help!

Also, www.courtesyparts.com

I've bought several things from them over the years. Most of the time they are a good amount cheaper than the local Nissan dealers here in town.

When I'm in need of a part in a hurry, I'll get a quote from Courtesy and take it to the local dealer and he will match it.

Never fails.

Try it sometime.
