No Monroney sticker?
No Monroney sticker?
After waiting over a week the dealer finally received my 2013 Nissan Maxima SV Premium at the dealership in Ontario, Canada. I was in the area thought I would go check the car out before I take delivery tomorrow. I noticed the Monroney sticker (Window sticker) was missing from the window but I was able to locate it all torn up and crumbled up in the pocket behind the drivers seat. Also odometer shows the car has 93 KMs. So is the dealer trying to sell me a demo as new? or do new vehicle do have about those odd KM's before being delivered to the customer?
Im sorry i'm just thinking worst case scenario since it is my first purchase of a brand new car.
Thanks.

Dealers swap cars with each other so the miles may have been driven in a swap. But, if the dealer you are buying from is the "bill to/ship to" Nissan dealer, there shoud not be a lot of miles.
The Monroney sticker indicates the original "ship to" dealer.
Also, you could ask to see the CO (Certificate of Origin) issued by the factory to see if you are the first buyer.

While 93 km seems like a lot more than it should have for a new car sale, I doubt it was a demo. If it was, it wasn't a demo for long.
It seems more likely that the car was swapped with another dealer (mine was because the place I bought it at didn't have the color and package I wanted so they swapped). 93 km is 50 something miles. Use google to see if the nearest Nissan dealer to the dealership you bought from is in that ballpark of a distance away.
Another possible answer? Some dealers let people take cars home for the night. I've been offered this a few times over the years (and usually decline), but that's how the dealership sold my wife her car - they kept her vehicle and she took it for a day. When she returned, she had put something like 30-40 miles on it and then decided to buy.
It couldn't hurt to ask the dealership why it had so many km on the clock...
