minor Shock/Strut noise?

I have noticed when my '09 Max hits bumps (ie: manholes, potholes, speed bumps, road cracks, etc) I hear a quick "air sound". Hard to explain but sounds like a "Pfffft".. short a brief from each shock/strut or something.. maybe its the tight suspension and normal.. not sure.. anyone else have this? -Ron

I have noticed it also, it isn't all the time though. I never thought much about it until now. Twice I have heard a crunch sound, kind of like I am scraping something underneath but I know I am not......

The air noise is coming from the shocks compressing. Completely normal IMO.

I have this as well.
It seems normal enough when you consider how shock absorbers work.
Crunch sound, I have not heard, so I am unsure if this is normal or not.

I had a noise coming from my passenger front strut. At first I thought it was the ABS self check, but the noise happened everytime i took off and hit any type of bump/dip/imperfection in the road.

Here is what fixed the issue.

I had the following TSB applied: NTB10-020

TSB Info:
2009-2010 MAXIMA; CREAKING/GROANING OR RUBBING
NOISE FROM FRONT STRUT AREA
APPLIED VEHICLES: 2009-2010 Maxima (A35)
APPLIED VINS: 2009 – All
2010 Vehicles built before: 1N4AA(*)AP(*)AC 819147
APPLIED DATES: 2010 Vehicles built before: November 3, 2009
IF YOU CONFIRM
On an Applied Vehicle, a creaking/groaning or rubbing noise can be heard coming from the
front suspension coil spring and strut upper bearing area.
ACTION
Install the tube—SPR TUBE UPPER—listed in the Parts Information section onto both (LH
and RH) front suspension coil springs.
PARTS INFORMATION
DESCRIPTION PART # QUANTITY
SPR TUBE UPPER 55018-ZX00A 2
Nissan Brake Cleaner (or equivalent) (1) As needed (2) (3)
Bitumen Wax 999MP-9G001P As needed (2) (3)

I had the thud / pop noise after ever take off. Once the TSB was applied, I only get the thud / pop noise upon start up (ABS Self Check).
