Replacement wheel cost
Replacement wheel cost
I searched and found nothing. Besides, I haven't found a forum that had a search function that I was good at using. Maybe an FAQ on using the search function would be helpful.
Ok, on to business. I discovered that the rear passenger side wheel on my nearly new max is bent. I'm fairly sure this is how it came (I avoid potholes, haven't hit any curbs, and the bent part is on the inside of the wheel). I have an appointment for my first service, to have them reseat a trim piece that doesn't seem to have been ever properly aligned, and replace the wheel (if the service manager agrees this is a warranty item/defect).
My question is: does anyone know where I can find out how much a replacement wheel will cost? Anyone know what it should cost?
2013 SV Sport w/tech, so the 19" hyper silver ones.
Thanks in advance for the help. I apologize in advance to anyone who posts "use the search function".

hundreds... sorry i dont have an exact number but $300-$800 just to give you an idea this is not something you should be paying out of your pocket for on a brand new car. your goal should be to get this covered under warranty. good luck.

I think the wheels (18") were around $310 a piece, I may be off but I know a single wheel was more than I paid for the tire/wheel warranty.
The fact is 17 inch plus wheels bend easy and I wish you luck but I doubt the dealer pays for it as the wheels don't just bend, you did hit something or was it vibrating from day 1 ?
How many miles and what made you look for a bent wheel ?
I never had any luck having wheels repaired as the same spot bent again. I'd check Ebay

If you mean OEM wheels, you'll have to order them from Nissan via a dealer, which means the price will be the same regardless of where you look. I recently checked on the price of 19" smoke grey OEM wheels and was quoted $640 each. YMMV.
I have bent quite a few wheels driving carefully just as you do. I opted to pay $229 for a 5 year tire/wheel replacement warranty.

I wasn't looking for a bent wheel at all. I was on my way back from court to my office and decided to stop at home to let my dog out. On the way, I heard a weird sort of thump, followed by a scraping noise. I hit no bump or pothole. When I got home, I got down on my knees and on the drivers side, where the noise was coming from, there was a six inch piece of thin metal (wire like, but slightly thicker) sticking out of my rear mudflap (I think the mudflap spared me a flat tire). When I pulled it out of the mudflap, I happened to glance across and saw a bend in the inside of the passenger side rear rim. This also happens to be the location of a trim piece along the rocker panel that doesn't quite fit right.
I had previously spoken to the dealer where I got the car about it and the salesperson told me that I could bring it to another one of their nissan dealers closer to my house to have the trim piece fixed. That salesperson is the right hand lady to the owner of the dealership group (the guy who set up my deal). So when I made the appointment to have them do my first service and fix the trim piece, as well as replace the rim, I called her to make sure she knew. She told me that I should let her know immediately if they refuse to replace it under warranty (our family and family friends are close personal friends of the people that own the dealership group). So hopefully, it won't be an issue.
Still, I was wondering if anyone had an idea of the cost, more out of curiosity than anything else. If they won't fix, I'll get the rim refinished/unbent at a local wheel shop I've worked with.
My car was a dealer trade (Nissan to Nissan) to get me the color/trim level I wanted, so it's possible the car had the issue when it was transferred. As a favor to us, they rushed through the delivery/inspection process but assured me that if there was an issue, they'd make it right.
Thanks for the reply!
There was no vibration and I haven't hit a thing. I've treated this car like I would a child as this is the most expensive, sportiest, and most luxurious car I've ever had. Plus, it's a lease through my business.

Unfortunately the Nissan dealer doesn't have the final say on if something like a bent wheel is covered under warranty.
I'm sure you did drive your car gently but the guy who hit a major pothole will say the same thing
I fought for 6 months to have a wheel with an obvious defect warrantied on my Vette. Chevy used to have a dedicated Corvette team and that's the only reason they warrantied the wheel as it had clearcoat issues which I showed the dealer the week after I bought it.
Good luck and let us know how you make out
I was told when I made my appointment that if the service manager thought it wasn't from a pothole, it would be fixed under warranty.
It's in a weird sort of place. I've had bent rims from potholes before, and all of them were bent on the outside of the rim (the side you see). This one is bent on the inside. I've also repaired bent rims before and haven't had them bend again. I suppose it is a concern. But if my rim is bent, isn't leaving it alone dangerous?
I'll update what happens. The service is Monday at 4 in Gurnee. I'll post the next day, after court.

Wheels don't just bend so somebody hit something with that wheel. I'm sure the service manager does have some input but I'm guessing he knows that any bend caused by an impact won't be warrantied. Curbs, potholes even block of Ice in the winter ( happened to me in MInnesota) will bend a wheel
I've had them bend on the inside. Where they fix the wheel is weakened and tends to bend easier but the wheels I had that bent were all aftermarket ( which I would never buy again) and of course the exact wheel was no longer being made so I had a choice of getting it fixed or 4 new wheels. I have never bent a factory wheel
I can't seen any harm in not fixing a bent wheel that isn't causing a vibration. Many small bends can be "balanced out" on a hunter GPS road force balancing machine. As I said, the true test is when you move the bent wheel up front as any vibration will show up more as there is more weight on the front wheels
One thing you may want to look for if they won't warranty the wheel is some marks on lugnuts showing that wheel ( and the wheel in front) has been moved. Maybe the dealer that had the car did hit something and tried to hide it by moving the bent wheel to the rear
Good Luck

Took it in today and can report that Rosen Nissan is a good dealership.
First of all, they had a complimentary oil change coupon for first timers, so my oil change was free (and was fast).
Secondly, they will replace the out of position trim piece. Part is ordered and will be installed when it arrives.
Finally, they will replace the wheel under warranty. Since there was no indication of damage from hitting a pot hole or curb, and the car has less than 3000 miles on it, the service manager approved a warranty replacement. It had to be ordered. I was told to expect a call in 2-3 days and they'll fix the wheel and trim piece.
I've bent a factory wheel before, but I hit a pothole. It was filled with water, so it looked like it wasn't a pothole. The tire went flat and the bend was on the exterior and interior of the wheel (in location I mean, as in the part that faces out and the part that faces in). Something caused the bent wheel, but it wasn't me and Rosen Nissan is standing behind it.
Like I said, this was a dealer to dealer trade. My guess is that the trim piece and bent wheel were likely from either a test drive or happened while unloading. Rosen didn't have time to fully inspect (and neither did I), but I'm positive I did nothing to cause the damage. Thankfully, this dealership isn't awful and has a good reputation.

Snap a picture of the bend when the tire is off the wheel if you can
If you are keeping the car a few year you should inquire about the tire/wheel warranty as maybe they will sell it to you still. I paid less than $250 so if you bend one wheel or blow a tire it pays for itself. Since you have bent multiple wheels in the past it seems you live in an area where it could easilly happen again..............and again
