The S model doesn't have the wiring for the blinkers. You need to hook that up manually.

The maxima comes in two trims, S and SV. S models don't have the side mirrors with blinkers.

Yea, I think you might have to get your own relay and wire it up to get the signal to work, I'm in the same delima on deciding if I want to purchase the power side mirrors or not lol

you don't need a relay. just figure out which wire is coming from the blinker module and splice that into your turn signal

Huh, sounds simple enough, I wasn't sure if any of those wires under the dash carried enough current to power the signal indicators, but then again, they are LED.

So dealers can make quick an easy money when someone wants to add a feature [/Conspiracy theory]

The cars are not pre-wired for everything. Nissan uses lots of different wiring harnesses for their electronics. This is why you also can't just go buy the OEM navigation screen and throw it in, everything is different when it comes to the wiring. Same reason why you can't just add paddle shifters. Go look in the Factory Service Manual at the wiring diagrams between the different trims and you'll see what we mean. Since you've obviously already plugged it in and verified it doesn't work though, you've already discovered this information.

you have the tools (FSM) you need to look at them now. Find the page that details the side mirrors and figure out what it has that you don't.

My 2010 S did not have the wiring for fogs. I had to tap them into the parking lights. I also don't have the tow hook threading/tow hook. There's a lot of things they seem to have removed from the 09-10+ S models.
