Anyone experienced battery problems?

I have a 2012 Premium Package. The other night I was in the garage with the the car in the "ON" position doing some cleaning. Wasn't running it in this position for too long and had the a/c off. When I went to start the car to back it out of the garage it tried to turn over but wouldn't start and the display screen sorta flashed. I tried a couple more times and it finally started. I took it around the block and brought it home and turned it off and tried again. Took me a 2-3 times again to start. I then drove it for about 20 minutes and left it in the garage. It started the next morning but I'm nervous that I am going to be stuck with a dead battery/car in the near future.

Has anyone else experienced a very quick drain of the battery when running in "ACC" or "ON" mode? Should I be concerned?

it's quite common with the weak OEM battery. iirc though, Nissan changed out the batteries on all 2012's to the new, better type. Did you buy it used or from teh original dealer?

The 2012 may or may not have the 700+ volt battery standard. Mine had the old one which left me stranded twice by listening to the radio in the cold.

I had mine replaced with the beefier battery at my own expense. Others here managed to get the dealer to swap it out for free.

I did notice that the car shuts off the radio at a certain point to preserve the start-up power. That may have been a software upgrade, but they didn't mention it at the dealership.

Please make this your first mod on the car and that is buy a new battery preferably a gold top of either brand....even the duralast battery is better!

Nissan changes to a 700 CCA if the old battery fails, my 2013 has the same battery as a 2009 did out of the factory

When you bring the car in let us know if the dealer just took your word for it and replaced the battery with the new 700 CCA battery

I have my first service appt on my 2013 this week and am thinking of telling a little white lie hoping they just swap the battery for me to the 700 CCA

Battery

I bought the car new from the dealer. I have a feeling I will be taking it in and seeing what I can get the dealer to do. Will follow up when I do. Frustrating for sure.

The price on the new Nissan 700 CCA battery is OK - $128 minus the $14 they give us for the old battery. $114 is not a bad price for a 700 CCA battery.

Just to feel safer, I made the switch to the Nissan 700 CCA battery, although having had no problems with the 550 CCA battery (made in July 2008) which came with my 2009 Maxima built in Sept 2008.

Those who have trouble with the 550 CCA battery in a more recent Maxima such as the '12 or '13 might well get some kind of discount or free replacement with the 700 CCA battery. Depends on the dealer.

ya get a strong good battery. I got mine replaced at around 45k miles with a cheapo battery.

It just recently went bad and had to replace it again. This time I got the best one that Oreiley's offers...it costed 130 bux. I think it was overpriced but I needed one asap.

I think u can get some super beefy batteries online for same or cheaper price.

I also suggest to Plast-Dip the battery for better cold weather insulation.
