Just bought another 2012, but its a bitter sweet moment
I bought my 1st 2012 new about a year and a half ago. It was a super black premium with cold and monitor packages and I loved it. I picked it up to be my daily driver. I deployed to Afghanistan in November 2012 and decided to sell it because I didn't feel like making payments on it while I was gone.
When I returned, I was faced with the same dilemma I had before I bought the super black Maxima: I didn't have a daily driver and I had to drive my '89 Supra to work and trips. While the Supra is a blast to drive, it just beats you up when you drive more it for more than 30 minutes.
I've had the Supra for 12 years and have modded the crap out of everything on the car. There is NOTHING on the powertrain and brakes that is stock and very little original pieces are left on the suspension. 685 rwhp, massive brakes, completely rebuilt and absolutely beautiful. Took 1st place at a couple of car shows too. Like I said, fun as hell, but brutal on longer trips.
So my wife convinced me to buy another Maxima (she loved the 1st one). I found a great deal on a 2012 Java Premium/Tech with 20k miles, so I picked it up today. Unfortunately. this also marks the end of my days with the Supra. I don't have the space for the additional car and I want to use the money from the selling of the Supra to put towards the Maxima. Sad day for me, but I think it had to be done.
I guess I will do a few things to my new car, but nothing on the scale as the Supra. Ghozt, you're days are numbered

I've seen very few Javas, and they definitely catch my eye . . very nice color. If I didn't live in such a hot, muggy climate down here in middle Georgia, I would have seriously considered Java for my car. I feel I have to go with white or silver with a light color interior. Even then, the AC runs most of the year, and the car interior broils when sitting in the sun.
Thanks for serving. I served only three years, and that was back in the 1950s. One year in Korea. I hope I'm not dating myself.
My daughter had a Celica Supra (the Supra was originally a Celica derivative, but the names separated around 1986) from around 1979 until she switched to a plain 4DR Camry when she married and had children. She had traded in a Mazda rotary engine RX-7 to get the Supra. She has been driving for 37 years, and has never owned anything but manual tranny cars.
I hope your new 2012 Maxima gives you comfortable, reliable transportation with a sporty touch. I think the 7th gen Maxima seems better looking now than when it was first released. Just my opinion.
Again, thanks for serving.
