Fair price for remote start?

Never had a vehicle without remote start till my Maxima. I just realized how much it sucks getting into a cold vehicle. What's a fair price for a basic remote start? Nothing fancy. Thanks!

Paid $170 last year for basic one button remote start. Just get in and hit the start button before you push the brake. I will get the smart start though cause basic ones have no range.

I'm also thinking of getting one since I could finally get one since all my other cars were manual.

What are my options is it possible I could get one from Nissan and just have one remote so I don't have to chug along 2?

Hmm. I can't find any less than $260 in the Chicagoland area.

Just get the viper alarm, worth the price, and protects the car !

If you use the factory remote, like some have, then you will be limited to the factory remote range. Mine has one small button fob and I, like you, don't like carrying two remotes. I will be getting the iphone app, smart start, installed on nov 7. I hope it works like everyone says.

I found a place on Craigslist that can install the Viper SmartStart for $360, just the starting function only. I think this is the route I going to choose, is that a fair price?

How would you go about doing this with the factory remote? I really like everything to be stock and definitely don't want any of those ugly FOB's that aftermarket ones have. My range is limited to the factory remote which is fine because my garage is right under my bedroom and I can lock and unlock the car from that distance.

Has anyone does this or plans to do this with the factory remote? Cost? Equipment?

$360 for the smart start is not bad at all.

To the person asking about the factory fob. Unless you know of a place that has done it before, DO NOT allow them to try. This is what I did and they could not figure it out and I am stuck with another fob. Few people are able to do it and I am not sure what is so hard. It connects to the door lock pulse and as you push the lock button three times it will activate the remote start and start the car.

I don't care If there is another remote, other than the OE fob... But don't we need something to bypass the push button start? or is it a basic set up that would go with any car?

I'll have to call the dealership to ask if this is possible. They would be the ONLY ones I would allow to do this if possible..

My installer used Idatalink module. You just get in and hit the brake, if the fob is in the car then you are good to go but if not then it shuts off.

I am having the compustar 2way 704 installed this weekend. With the bypass module, parts, labor and taxes I'm paying $500.
