thoughts on these lights?

i just got a 2009 w/ non-HID, and unsurprisingly, i'm not happy with the headlights. i used to have a 2003 and upgraded the bulbs in those HIDs, but i don't really know a lot about the whole HID vs. halogen light stuff. i've tried doing some research on upgrading the bulbs, and i'm still having a tough time getting my head around everything with lenses, projectors, retrofits, etc. i keep finding myself on the retrofit source website, and this appears to be something that would work... can people give me some input? what have other people with non HID 7th gens done, that isn't crazy expensive?

thanks in advance.

If u just wanna add an hid kit that kit u posted is the one that a lot of ppl recommend. If you have the non hid max then make sure u order the h11 bulbs with the kit.

If you buy this kit, make sure you buy the xb35 H11b bulbs as the h11 bulbs will give you a ground shadow effect. I bought this kit but have been having some issues with flickering. The light flickers when i go over bumps which i can accept as normal but the lights also flicker intermittently when the car is idling which is a problem. I'm currently talking to TRS to hopefully resolve this issue.

Isn't the xb35 only required for the fogs?

I don't have fogs on my 2012 Maxima S so i'm not sure about which bulbs to use with fogs, but when i first installed the morimoto elite kit, i had h11 bulbs for the low beams and there were two vertical dark lines that were present when i turned the lights on. See below for my thread about the issue

Yeah, that's why I don't buy DC ballasts they're known for flickering, and you should always try and get AC ballast HID's. I bought a HID kit off DDM back in the day for my old R6, same issue! On the R6 Forum theres a guy, Justin who owns AGGRACING.COM! Check him out, he only uses AC Ballasts, they don't and won't flicker, I have them on my fogs and haven't had an issue ever in the 3 years I've bought from him too!

Morimoto ballasts are AC.

And for those with halogen headlights, get the H11B bulbs so that there's no return wire shadow in your output.

This is what I put in mine and have had no problems. It does have the shadow as mentioned but it does not bother me. And I went with the 5000K color.
