Could be the steering wheel lock issue, just a thought...what year maxima do you have?

Move your selector lever thru the gears then try starting it again. This is a long shot as I wouldn't think the neutral safety switch would be bad this early in the game. (But you never know)

Are you sure the battery is fine? I thought mine was too. Check your lights to see if they turn on or press the Start button without depressing the brake to see if the car turns on. If it doesn't then it's the battery.

If it does but still doesn't start, it may be the starter.

Are you on the OEM battery? If so, there have been numerous problems with these. I would recommend having it tested out.

Car wouldn't start one day for me, filled the terminals with distilled water and it started right up. Good thing I wasn't stranded somewhere, good to see its started

It's something in the E system that detected the short and kept the car from running/torching the vehicle.

Wow ... good lookin out! Awesome that you figured it out. Prolly would've taken a lot longer if you didn't have the auto start.

check your battery. i got stuck 3 times before it never started again. had to get jumped and the last time couldn't even jump it. ****ing dealer made me get the car towed to the dealership (.5 mile away) they wouldn't allow me to bring them the battery for a replacement unless I paid and couldn't get reimbursed. ****ers.

something like that happened to me once. I knew the terminal connection was bad because the aftermarket alarm I had on my car goes off if the battery is disconnected. just tightened it up. good job on figuring that out on your own.
