Good day to all,
I am writing this post, because it is in my intention to let every car enthusiast and every passionate driver know what happens to his beloved car behind the scenes and when she's away.
Our dealer requires a service maintenance to be done every 5000 kms, in which the car should go in, get checked, serviced and maintained by their what so called "professionals". My car is 2011, and I have been servicing the car since day 1 every 5000kms. I delivered the car to the service center at 110,000kms for a routine service with nothing major and no comments whatsoever. What they don't know is that I recently purchased an HD Dash Cam that records 24/7 on a looping phase of 3 minutes segments each. It detects motion, whether visual or physical and has a GPS sensor as well which was unplugged that day. To be fair, I have flipped the camera towards the interior of the car because it is not my right to record and view their workshop, tools, workers...etc. The footage that I have taken was quite shocking and disturbing.
Brothers, allow me to tell you that you that my car went through the following:
So I filed a complaint and went directly to the CEO of Nissan in Dubai. I didn't want to go public and thought they would compensate me somehow. The CEO directed me to the Regional Service Manager and another Senior Service Manager. They both had me at their office with a cup of tea, long story short, they apologized on the spot and promised me they will do something about it for my satisfaction. Few days later I received a call from the Senior Service Manager telling me the following "You are a respectful gentleman and are obviously not looking for trouble, we just wanted to let you know we took care of it internally, again we apologize"
So let me get this straight, my car goes in for normal oil and oil filter change to hygienically abused and to be driven outside the premises with risks of fines? And I get nothing as a compensation? What if I had some repairing to do and major service to be done? More abuse would have been done to the car?
What about those GTR(s)? or those brand new Nissan Patrol(s)? or those expensive Infiniti(s)?? I'm just one case, and this is just one service! I am never going back again no matter what, these dirty money makers are not abusing my car anymore, no effin way!
Spread the word, and let me hear yours!

- Event #1: One of their drivers entered my car and searched hopelessly looking for valuables to steal. He checked the cup holders, the right glove box, the center console, the back seats and the driver's door. He was also driving when looking at the back seat and removing his attention from the road. No seat belt was worn while driving outside the premises which could have caused my a fine. He then picks his nose and hold the gear lever like nothing happened. Captures Below.

- Event #2: A staff member got in my car and he apparently had flu and kept sneezing and then touching the interior of my car, and also using tissues from my tissue box and then tossing them to the floor of my car right after cleaning his nose. He also wiped his nose with his bare hand and then touched the gear lever as well as the rear view mirror. Captures Below.

- Event #3: Another staff member came into my car sitting on the naked seat with his clothes and sweat. They both take off for a 5 minute drive around the premises without any seat belt being worn on both drivers. Captures Below.

Thanks for the post and showing people just what happens when you take your car to the dealership. I know it does not happen at every dealer but in any case it is wrong. You are a better man than me because I would have lost control. I have had to have a talk with the service manager at my local dealership because the have lied about some of the services the supposedly had done to my car and they didn't. Called them out on it. Good luck sir with whatever happens. Sometimes you have to be an A hole to get things done!!!

The pic of the guy picking his nose is classic!
Btw I would have flipped my **** on these ppl. Go back to Nissan and tell them you want compensation, free oil changes from the dealership or something.

If it were me - I'd be posting these as replies all over the Twitter & Facebook pages of both Nissan and this dealership until I felt I was made whole. I'd be handing out copies of these pictures to customers walking into their service station.
To rub salt into the wound, it's not one... not two... but THREE DEGENERATES soiling and exploiting your property.
You could always pick your nose then shake the mechanic's hand, thank him for doing such a great job, sneeze directly in his face, and then take a pen from his pocket and walk away. =)

That's disgraceful. I would of said either you fire these 3 guys in front of me or I'm taking action against your dealership.
If I were u I would post this All over online. I would even send it to Nissan and all there higher ups, telling them if nothing is done you will forward this footage to your local News stations and more.
Take action. Lucky it wasn't me. I would of walked up to the service mgr. Showed him pics of the guys and asked where they were, then knocked the Snot out if them!!!!!
Btw. Which Camera do you have. ??!
I now want one in my car.

First of all I want to compliment you on your superb English. Most Americans can't even spell like that.
I think you should go public with this information.

Great work documenting your findings.
Curious what is the Make/Model of your camera you are using to record this. I'm surprised they never noticed it at all.

Wow!!! That is unbelievable. I think you have let them off the hook really easy. That is just nasty. You had to take your car to disinfect and clean it all over. You can easily get sick from that. Wow, using your tissue and throwing the used tissue in your car!!! Man, that is just unacceptable. I think they went too far. Do you need help to escalate this thing?
On a different note, can you please share info about your camera? That thing is awesome. I mean, that is HD quality. That is some hardcore evidence there.
Can you post info about that your camera? Might be a good thing to have. I am wondering how they never knew they were on camera.
On a funny note, their actions look like the thieves on "Bait Car" on TruTV.

Man, that's crazy. Hopefully something good comes out of all this. You were right to report it.

Trust me I have went for the silent deadly guy tactique. I have posted the same thread on a domestic regional forum as well that is being watched by Nissan Middle East. I really am looking to ruin their reputation and get my rights back. I know it'll take quite sometime but I'm willing to wait!Originally Posted by dmcmahan12

On a side note, this particular service center claims they register 450 cars on a daily basis. Cannot imagine what happens to lower grade cars, like Sunny. lol
I do want to mention that my previous services had so many complaints and my minor comments were most of the time missed and un-done when I came to receive the car. Their service quality is pretty horrible and is not professional. I always waited for 45 minutes just to get the car out of the never ending car wash and get the gate-pass printed out.

as a mechanic, all ill say is stuff like this happens alot. i know guys that took their cars in for major engine overhauls (not a Nissan dealership) and the employees bagged the crap out of their cars on test drives. its sad really, i could never abuse or dirty someones vehicle

I want to first state that I'd be pissed off if this was my car. I'd really be mad.
However, I feel like there are only two reasons to be upset. First, they have no right to go through your car looking in compartments. Obviously. Definitely not ok. Second, if they had no reason to drive your car (just an oil change), I'd be mad about that too.
The other things are just life. You can't expect someone to not touch their nose and then your shifter. IMO, saying that your car was hygienically abused is a little much. I don't like the idea of a tissue being dropped, but I kinda think that's just looking for something else to be mad about. And it's not your right to have plastic on the seats before they sit, that's just a courtesy that they do and they shouldn't be in trouble for skipping that on the passenger side.
I'm all for the hidden camera thing, and I would want those guys destroyed if they took anything from your car and you had evidence. But the hygiene stuff is just life, gotta let that go.
Good luck with passing the bad behavior on publicly. That should definitely be exposed.

with the guy searching the glovebox etc, could he have not been looking for the wheel lock key if you have wheel locks? i know some people keep the key in the back seat or other odd places sometimes, could be all he was looking for

I'm with you 100% on this, this is life, and people do pick their nose and do sneeze, you cannot hold them. The problem is that, my car is my property, and when I give it to oil change, then I'm only giving it for an oil change and not for mucus spray. I also don't like the fact that the other guy sat in the car with no seat cover. Temperature in Dubai reaches 45-50 C in summer, can you imagine the amount of sweat he had on? They put the covers as courtesy to show us customers that they are protecting our vehicle, which didn't happen at all this time. It is just a move deceiving people and making them think their vehicles are being safe, clean, and maintained.
When you go to visit your friend at his house, you don't go to the bathroom, you do use his toilet but you throw the tissues where they're supposed to be thrown and leave everything back like they were. Why? because you respect the fact that you should be very neat and clean because this isn't your property.
My question would be, would he have the same thing in his car? Definitely not. Hence why I say my car was being hygienically abused. I got disgusted from this and took my car for full steam wash and interior detailing afterwards.

Is it me or there really isn't much of a story to tell here? Hours of footage and all you got was a guy opening the center console and not taking anything? The rest of the stuff the OP mentions is just the unfortunate stuff off real life and not really the unfortunate truth of Nissan.

Thanks for replying, Rafik Jabbour. I'm going to look into that camera - I've been trying to find a solid quality dash cam and it seems I'll have to shell out some significant dough to get one.
Unfortunately, as Chrome91 said, I'm sure things like this do happen and quite often. You hear about loose change/dollars going missing in trays all the time. I usually make it a point to remove my personal belongings before getting the car serviced - I think I'll be sanitizing after as well.
Keep us posted.

Rafik,
i agree with you 100%. And the guy was not just rubbing his nose , he was clearing going at it. Just disgusting !! That dealership should pay for the cost of your inside being completely detailed.
I would not only post this on Middle East forums. But post it on Many US forums. You want to get the attention from Nissan Headquarters and let them deal with the Owner of that dealership and compensation to you. Find out who Handles customer service issue for Nissan in the US and email them them your Videos. I would also put this on YOUTUBE. Im sure it will get attention there!!!
Im glad in my area i know people who work at the dealerships i bring my car into, so they usually keep an eye on my car for me..Just in case.
The Fact that Serpent, commented that you can not expect someone to not touch there nose then your shifter is off base here. Thats like saying you should expect grease on your seats and steering wheel etc from a mechanic working on your car from his dirty hands. It comes down to common sense and respect to someones property.

Just for the record, I want to clear up that I wasn't saying that it's perfectly acceptable for that to be going on. It's obviously disrespectful to the owner of the car, and seriously gross.Originally Posted by whit

But (I'm gonna get a little graphic here lol) it's not like he pulled out some big long stringy booger and left that on the shifter. He didn't do that. The car was returned to rafik in the same shape he left it in.
Now, if the worker was sick and then passed it on to rafik, that'd be frustrating. That would qualify as hygienic abuse of the car.
I guess it's just me, I'm a pretty laid back guy. If it was my car and video, I'd be livid about several things that went on, but the dude picking his nose wouldn't be one of em. Yes it's gross, but I'd let that slide.

Um, No. I'm a pretty nice mostly laid back dude, and let a lot of things slide but if I were to see someone I'm paying hard earned money to treating my car like that I would definitely have not too nice words for them... That is not just "life", that's plain disgusting and lack of "what you'd hope would be but evidently isn't common" courtesy. You have a booger? Get out the car go to the bathroom or at least go grab a tissue throw on some hand sani and then do your job.. sneezing/blowing your nose in a customer's car and then throwing the tissues in there? Nah buddy, that's not cool at all. I hate getting my cars serviced straight up, really wish I could do work on em myself at my house and not get torn a new one by my really stupid HOA.. I gotta look into that camera hahaOriginally Posted by Serpent

This is my setup, the camera's wires are completely hidden and embedded in the interior trim and connected to the Video Jack. I've done the connection and wiring myself.

That just shows how careless they are with other peoples property. Some mechanics are like that and even my cousin who works at a gm dealer. We were working on my car and he just tossed the BCM off to the side(which is a pretty expensive part). This just makes me want to do all maintenance on my own cause you know this happens. Some people who are only around for a paycheck just don't care. Even though he had a camera in his face! I do recall once my father left a large amount of money in his trunk and they handed it to him. Hit and miss.
Just an update.
I was called today by Nissan, they want to have a meeting with me within the next couple of days. They are looking to compensate me and make me happy.
I'll keep you all updated.

I'll keep you all updated.

Dude Rafik.. I can't believe this.. I am asuming this is the Deira workshop as I have seen that other idiot on the passenger seat.. now I don't know what to expect as I usually give my car in the same on or sharjah service station.. but this is completely unacceptable..
I think now that you have made some noise about it, that's why they are willing to meet and compensate.. don't let them go easy bro.. you deserve it..
I am confused where to service mine from now on.. just driven 35K :/
