im hearing this noise coming from under the car towards the back in the middle, kind of right by where the sway bar is. it sounds like the noise springs make on trampoline. at first I thought it was my ksport coils, but the noise isn't coming from them, im thinking its a bushing but which one. any have any ideas, or had this happen to them?

 

I'm pretty sure it is the rear sway bar bushings. Mine made the exact noise when I went over speed bumps. I had the bushings replaced under warranty, but within 10 months it made the same noise again. I had the car checked and it needed new bushes. My basic warranty ran out and I decided not to get it fixed at Nissan. I went ahead and purchased the rear sway bar from Racing Line Performance, and my car handles much better and the noise is gone.

 

I have the racing line sway bar on my car, but you had to use the oem bushings, so that might be the case then, ill take a look a those bushings, thanks for the advice

 

I have the RacingLine one as well, and it did NOT instruct for using the OEM bushings, it came with two bushings that you use in place of the OEM ones. Maybe you got shorted?

I've had the sound too, fixed it by getting under there and working some heavy duty grease between the bar and bushings. The grease also came with the sway bar when I bought it. Good luck. If you didn't get the right bushings, that's what you need to be looking into.

 

The rear sway bar I purchased from Racing Line Performance also came with some bushings. I would email them and let them know about it.

 

Sigh. Me too. Replaced once and now i'm out of warranty.

Yeah and you might want to get on that ASAP because I placed an order Jan 3rd for rear sway bar plus front and rear endlinks and not only did they partially ship my order (just rsb and front endlinks - rear endlinks still haven't shipped yet must be on back order) and I literally just received the package technically yesterday afternoon, 1/21. Just an FYI

 

What kind of grease should I get to put in there because Im having the exact same problem. Also is it hard to work the grease in there. Im not quite sure where to put it so if you could be a little more specific I would appreciate it!

 

Don't know the exact grease, but, I can describe it to you. Very thick. White. The kind of grease that doesn't leave your fingers feeling slimy, but rather sticky.

It's not easy to re-grease it. Not hard, but takes a few minutes on your back and a little muscle. Gets a little, well, greasy. Lol

1. Jack up one side of the car.
2. On the bushing on the jacked-up side, remove the two bolts that hold the metal clamp that goes around the bushing.
3. Slide the rubber bushing towards the bend in the bar. That will help hold the bushing apart where it's slit. It'll also leave a couple gaps on the sides of the bushing.
4. Get grease all up in that bi-otch. Twist it around and cover it.
5. Put it back together and do the other side.

Just wanted to clarify things with the last post but this is not a recall but rather a Service Bulletin. The difference apparently is a recall usually deals with a safety concern and will be covered free of charge. With a service bulletin nissan is just saying they are aware of the problem and posts a fix for it or if you are within your warranty period then they will fix it free.

I just greased those suckers up and I'm riding quiet again!
