so can anyone fill me in on the latest in lighting trends ?

these led's seem pretty cool since they are low wattage and does not require
a separate ballast.

No one uses Halogens or HIDs, LEDs anymore, we all use LASERS.

Back on topic:
There is no way those would be safe of even bright enough to be used as a real headlamp.
Those LEDs are incorrectly placed to be properly focused by the projector.

Also, the green circuit board? Even if they did output a full 30 watts, the heat generated would fry the LEDs in short time as there is no proper cooling solution to ensure heat removal.

Lastly the reflectors surrounding the LED is no way shiny enough or cut well enough (I see rough edges) to be able to direct the light properly and again, help with heat dissipation

Now, there are cars out there with OEM LED lights, however those are properly cooled, aimed/focused, and definitely higher output than this.
If you want to try retrofitting those in, I would love to see the results.

Nope. Some of the newer headlights have LED projectors, which are completely different, and are more comparable with halogens in terms of light output.

Long story short, the optics for projectors (halogen or HID) are designed around the source of light coming from a specific single point. LED bulbs like that will not provide any meaningful results since the source comes from multiple points which will not reflect correctly inside of the projector bowl. They would be better served in a reflector application like the fogs or High beams.

I wouldn't even use those bulbs to light up the inside of my fridge.

They will be useless in any application unless you just want to install them for looks/color but you can get a HID kit for that.

I've seen these LED's on some of the local "fart cannon" cars and they are crap.

I have LED fog lights and I would not use them as a primary source of lighting. Stick to HIDs or standard halogens...

If you absolutely want LEDs for your low beams then grab these.

The output won't be as bright as HIDs but they have an alright output.

While those fit the socket of the halogen headlights low beam, I would not use LEDs as a primary source of lighting unless the headlight was designed with the newer LED headlights. This is extremely dangerous guys, don't cheap out and put LEDs in your low beam just do it right.
