Stillen cold air intake????

Ok, who here has a stillen cold air intake? Who here has a K&N cold air intake? And which one do you think would be better? Or should I nix putting a cold air intake on altogether?

Only if you answer my question first?

Do you prefer Blonde's or Brunettes?

Well I like mine bald... The reason why I wondering which would be better is because the stillen is carryinga hefty price tag and if they both do the same job, then why pay the extra money? Is it just for the name?

You need to remember neither of these are "cold air" intakes. Your stock air box is actually a cold air intake.

AEM has the best design. It's more for sound and doubt it gives anymore than 5hp. Go with a custom cold air like member Ghozt did for actual HP.

Yeah. You could also just go with the R2C which will cost you about $175 shipped but like many have said you're better off with stock even though I've had no problems with my R2C. Just can't install a strut bar now because with the phelonic spacers this thing sits too high.

The R2C intake with heat-reflective tape all-around the shroud seemed to be fairly effective at making the coldest short ram intake that I've seen from testing, GMTraitor did the tests using his OBD-II device and pulled intake air temps before and after.

Ghozt, is there a reason why you are going to be selling it?

While effective, that thing must look god awful on the engine bay..

Was the AEM tested? It comes with a snorkel that sits right behind the front grille and directs cold air to the filter. That's got to be the best one I would think.

As good as a true CAI would be, not sure if everyone will be as eager to relocate their battery. I know I wouldn't. Then again that could change because when I bought my car I had no intentions on modding it

As good as the AEM looks they had a lot of quality problems where it would throw codes on many Maximas, especially the earlier models so for the price that AEM charges and the problems it gives, the company's CAI never grew too well in popularity. At least for the 7th Gen Max

Ghozt started a new business so I'm sure he means that he will be making this product for the masses or at least to order.

Also the AEM is based off the design of the R2C

Well i have had the AEM Intake and if its sound your looking for thats the one. However the factory intake is the best option in my opinion. Over months i had debated if i should get an intake or not. So i did pull the trigger and bought the AEM, however the power wasn't what i thought i would get just drone and deep roar lol. However i waited until i did the pulley and still wasn't please with the intake. Switch back to the stock and was very please once i did a K&N Filter. So to be honest if you don't take the route that Ghozt took its really pointless unless your going to tune it. But overall the stock is the best option for these motors in my opinion.

Haven't heard from GM in quite awhile? He had the Navy Blue Max if I remember correctly.

I'm selling the custom CAI cause I won't need it in a few weeks here. I already have 4-5 really interested buyers in the FB group so I'm gonna hook one of them up with it.

I thought it would, actually didn't look half bad. GM did it cleanly and saw something like 18 degree F drop at idle.

Agreed, this is why I never tried making any for anyone else cause most of the work is relocating the battery and nobody wants to do that.

Unfortunately no, I can contact a company and have them make a replica if I thought anyone would buy it but this is just to gauge interest in selling my one-off set.

He sold his car and bought a new 5.0 and now makes fun of how slow I am.

Oh really?? Out of curiosity why won't you be needing it anymore?

Yeah, +1 on that Ghozt.

First you sell the Rays and now the custom CAI.

You leaving us, buddy? Was it something we said?

Haha just kidding, but am pretty curious as to what's up over there, Bro Montana.

All I'ma say is I have things in the works...some people know what I'm up to, everything is coming together over the next couple weeks.
