recently when making turns or accelerating from a stop my brake light would come on. solved that by reading some other post on here my fluid is low but the slip indicator light would come on after the brake light and stay on. any one know why that light comes on when its dry outside granted its cold but no ice or rain on the ground

Could it possibly be the VDC fuse?

i didnt even think to check the VDC fuse i'll check that out also

I understand they are just trying to be helpful but I like how people always tell others to check fuses and grounds when there is a problem.

Have you tried turning the VDC off and back on using the VDC switch? Does the switch work properly?

Have you driven the car? The system may reset itself.

My guess is an error code or something simailar was stored due to your low fluid. The system is probably fine but needs to be reset. I'm not sure what that procedure may be at this point.

Oh the wonders of technology. As the vehicle systems become more complex the more there is to go wrong. The more reasons to run over to your helpful Ni$$an dealer :-)

Fortunately there is google search.

Pull your Xterra to an area where you can drive straight ahead without turning the wheel for a couple hundred feet. Have the wheel straight. Turn off engine.
Restart engine and pull straight ahead in drive. Light should go off in a couple hundred feet.

It's called troubleshooting (Sorry I'm a networking major) so the way I've learned is to always check the obvious before moving on. Doesn't hurt

Sorry, I'm not trying to pick on you. I'm sure the OP appreciates any input. The trouble started with his brake fluid being too low. That was corrected by adding fluid. There is no reason to think that the problem is electrical at this point.

How many miles you have? Maybe you put in wrong type of fluid? I say flush/change the fluid before doing anything serious. How long has it been doing this? Maybe w a little driving it will go away.

both lights were caused by the brake fluid being fairly low i added just a lil bit to get it just under max and the lights havent been back since
