Wow, those headlights and DRLs look awesome. Like you, I cannot have my headlights out of the car and I honestly do not feel like opening them up yet. However, the DRLs have really peaked my interest. Do you happen to have any daytime shots with them on and off? I would like to see how the LED look when they are off on the car. Also if possible, can you turn on your fog lights so I can see how they look with all the lights on haha, must look like a giant moving light show.

Those are the Morimoto X.DRL, correct? How was the installation done? Did you cut up the little brake vent or just attach it to the outside of the plastic mesh?

Just noticed that you did include photos with your fog lights on. Just wondering how these will look in the daytime though, and possibly at night in an open environment from a distance. Thanks a bunch.

Will have to work on that; to be honest, I took some pics from a distance with my iPhone and they look like sh*t because the camera quality sucks

My wife has one of them there sony cybershot cameras and it takes good pics so I'll have to get it done that way and upload em and whatnot as I'm confident the camera quality will provide the results you're looking for so you can make you own decision

Would definitely appreciate that. Just wondering how you went with the install? I think the yellow diodes will look okay against a silver car. Not completely sold on it, but it looks really cool from afar and I think would be a better choice over the Philips considering the smaller and flush design. Are they 6000k in temperature?

brake vents were cut and drl strips bonded to inside of bumper on each side:

to be honest, I had the cabin noise issue dealt with today with a perforated core glass pack and while the car was on the hydraulic lift I took a another look at everything and am happy with the way it's neat & secure with the wires being protected via a plastic sheath over them.

EDIT: forgot a pic

Just some pics

murr murr, ya see?? just how i talk, ya see??

yeah so i really want to tint the windshield 35% or 50% and am torn about doing it because of police but man would it really tie everything together aesthetically

gotta black out those side markers too

other than that am thinking about painting the middle part of brake light housings a glossy gray color to match wheels and headlight housings - that would tie together nicely also

that's all i've got. go patriots

Heya Dudemaine, good game. I really want to be humble about it but... ahhhhh it's just too much to keep in GOOOO DOLPHINS!

I think you have a slight idea how Dolphin fans feel now lol. If we have EVER looked good in the past... 12 years, it was the first half and then forgot how to play this kickball game coming out of halftime.

On another note, my fantasy football team chalked up a big L. Stinks.

Met up with a good dude omar.G yesterday and even though we didn't get everything done we wanted to get done due to damn darkness by 4:30-5pm or so, one thing I will say is that nanoskin fine grade wash mitt and nano shock really is fantastic

I've never machine ANYTHING on any of my cars before as I previously took it to my guy for details 2x a year (apr & oct) and he delivered the goods. every time

So I'm not about to use my max as a guinea pig with polishing as I'm sure I'd burn right through the clear coat -- not about to happen. This sh*t, though? Holy sh*t. Incredible. We just did a two bucket wash on each of our cars and dried them, door jambs and all, and then we worked sections at a time with the nanoshock as I made sure to hit every nook and cranny I worked with the spray to keep it lubed up and would hit with the mitt. I'm telling you, if you're as meticulous with not only the cleanliness and appearance of your car but also with the paint protection then this purchase is no-brainer city as i'll definitely be buying another bottle

Pretty confident it made a believer out of omar as well and he can tell you how much of a difference it made on his whip

Just trying to put y'all on to that GOOD information if you're picking-up what I'm laying-down here

Anyway, a few pics taken from omars phone with no filter/trickery/tomfoolery - just as they are

Well done, sir! I also like you buddy Omar's rim setup as its a nice look with the red calipers. As for your tails, I have mine modded too and found that painting the reflective reverse light portion looks awesome but have you found that it doesn't like up as much when backing up? They look great but mine make it difficult to see what's behind me in total darkness.

Very nice bro..question , how did u open the tail lights? Does it requires only baking or it needs cutting also?

+1 on cutting the tails, you'll see its serrated a lil but on the outer edge there in one of the pics.

Nice man. Got any pics? Would be interested in that! Yeah Omar's car is sick, really nice wheels he got from a fellow .orger in the classifieds. Definitely a head-turner

So yeah, thanks for that intel; definitely thought of that as a possibility so the reverse lights and tail light directional bulbs are being upgraded in hopes of offsetting that drawback with the light output with the reflectors/internals being painted.

Kinda like why HID may be a waste (don't know for certain, just theory) on the hi beams for headlights with reflectors/internals being painted as well so i ended up doing cree high powered LED bulbs to color match the lo beams if not for anything else as I never use hi beams anyway, so... eh, we'll see

Nice car but LED high beams? Why? Thats a shame, such a clean 7th gen...

Btw 2014 Maximas already come with smoked tails, look just like your modded ones. Could've just got another set without any cutting of tails.

nice whip!

Hahaha thanks man

But yeah I mean, I don't use the hi beams anyway (I really don't) so if I were to go the HID route it wouldn't be effective because the painted housings/internals defeat the purpose that the reflective quality of the oem/chrome/mirror looking internals provide, that's all. So to cover my bases the headlight projectors (the little globe lookin things) were upgraded from oem for a crisper/clearer light output for the lo beams

As far as the smoked tails, I have those same exact ones that you're referencing for model years 12+ - - I just got rid of the middle reflective chrome/mirror looking part by painting the same color code (RAL 7015) to match powder coated wheels to match headlight housings and side markers so there is literally no chrome left on the car except for the lugs which will be replaced once a nice set of gloss black ones are found with a wheel lock etc

^^ I hear that, makes sense. I hate chrome, I love no chrome look and it really makes 7th gen look SO much better imo. Nice job on the lights, its a minor detail that most ppl wont even notice but makes car look all that much better

I dont whip the 7th gen much, its wifes car so its stock, but I like seeing a nicely modded clean one like yours

And I very rarely use my high beams also, I put in Hella Xenon yellow in mine. Actually, the few times I did use em they were very useful (once in terrible fog/rain storm and once to highbeam a dumb lady on the road)...both times worked perfectly

hey thanks guys i appreciate it

my only regret is had i'd known then what i know now, i definitely would've went premium/tech pkg instead of sport/tech; a nice black glass roof and tinted windshield would be ideal for my theme here

think i'm pretty much gonna be done with aesthetic mods after this project; may have to vinyl wrap roof 3m 1080 gloss black and tint windshield 35% -- just have to find a shop first that i can speak with the owner and work out an agreement first (wink wink) in turn for an inspection sticker

Dude, the panoramic roof sucks. It looks good for a while. But after a while it starts to make noises and not work as well. This is what many 7th gen owners have told me. Not to mention the panoramic roof adds weight, as do the 19" sport wheels.

Makes no sense but the truth is that the sportiest Maxima is not the sport model. sport/tech package is the worst. Regular SV with the new 18" Enkei's is the best (and fastest) package. You can do anything else to it after.

Blacking out roof can look really good on some cars, and do you guys not pass inspection with tint? How would they even test a windshield?

By no means am I disappointed with my SV sport/tech but if you're right about the pano roof being noisy after a while then I'm all set and am that much more happy with what I've got.

As far as the one with the 18" wheels being the "sportiest" or fastest, if you will, that makes sense with the reduced weight compared to the 19s.

Also, in RI any tint is illegal other than factory and you will not pass inspection. Haha I literally just got a sticker for my car yesterday for the first time as with new cars in this state you don't need a sticker until 2yrs old or 24k miles (whichever is first) and my car is a '12 with 13,5 on it now so I had to get it done. Luckily I got a hookup and am good thru 12/2016 as with tint on sides/back and no front plate would've failed

So u put the taillights on the oven first and then cut it, or just go straight to cut it? How did you put it back, with silicone?

Not too sure but I will look into that for you. I want to say it was oven first, then cut, mods completed and later put back with silicone. I don't know if any sealant was used per se because there's no 'track', if you will, for sealant to be laid on and the pieces to pop-in back together.

I read up on A LOT and ask questions so I know conceptually how it all works but had to turn it over to my guy at rihids.com because I don't have the experience so it's out of my jurisdiction and this is what he does. No doubt in my mind that he's right up there with the best of 'em (on that Ghozt level) where he does custom builds, warranties his sh*t, and is just a complete, meticulous professional. When he's done, his workmanship looks OEM as if he was never even in there -- and you better believe I check

So yeah, I'll get back with you on that or maybe thinblue82 can chime in if he feels so inclined. But either way I'm gonna verify
