Heated/Cooled Driver Seat Switch/Dial
Question Crew,
I was curious if anyone else has run into my issue. The heated/cooled switch for the driver seat has begun turning off after about 12sec of turning it "ON" either to the left(cool) or right(heat). I called the stealership about it and they want $180 for an electrical test, which I will avoid.. Any ideas why this could be happening?
Thanks for the help

Mine has done that since I've owned it. Dealership has no idea has no reports of it happening to anyone else. Mine does it randomly and of course never does when I'm at the dealer to show him.
I have heard others in chat rooms and i think on here too who were able to prove it to the dealer and they had to replace the whole seat which seems extreme.

Common problem. It's a fairly simple system once you understand it. There is no reason for the dealers to be so "puzzled".
For whatever reason the dealerships/Nissan don't want to fix it or touch the seats. The dealers probably just do not want to start taking the seats apart. Although they are generally easy to repair.
Depends how quickly the CC seats turn off. Most times the problem is that the CC turns off after 30 sec or more. This means a mechanical problem. Also means that they are probably not heating ar cooling properly for the short time the system is on.
From the FSM:
Climate controlled seat turns off too soon.
Climate controlled seat switch indicator turns off within 10 seconds of turning on.
Malfunction caused by electrical issue. Check the following:
• Connectors for physical damage or loose terminals.
• Seat cushion thermal electric device.
Refer to SE-15, "Diagnosis Procedure".
• Seatback thermal electric device.
Refer to SE-18, "Diagnosis Procedure".
• Climate controlled seat blower motor.
Refer to SE-12, "Diagnosis Procedure".
Climate controlled seat switch indicator turns off 30 seconds or more after turning on.
Malfunction caused by mechanical issue. Check the following:
• Foam seat pads not aligned for thermal electric device outlet.
• Thermal electric device ducting restricted or disconnect
• Climate controlled seat blower motor inlet restricted.
