13 Tech Sport w/Nav. Crimson Black.
I'd share a picture, but I can't keep it clean. Two seconds after any car wash (save for the one's I rarely have the time to do at home), I end up with streaks and spots from residual water in the mirrors, along the trunk lid, etc.
Plus, it rains every so often here.
Should have waited for the White one.

Use some Meguire's detailer to clean those streaks and spots. Worked great on my super black Maxima.

I agree^
CB is stunning when all the clear-coat swirls are cut-out and it's waxed to the max. But boy what a pain to keep up. My next car will probably be white also.

Totally. When I wash and wax at home and get every bit of water off, it's fantastic right up until I hit a puddle, someone in front of me washes their windshield, or it rains even a drop. Then it drives me nuts. I see a few white Max's by me and they look great (and clean).

Thanks for the tip. I have a bottle I bought a few months ago, but if I get a wash not at my house, I am usually on the way to court or the office and don't have access. My OCD kicks in and I get mad about every little blemish.

Maybe if I'm going to get a wash next time, I'll bring the bottle and a terry towel with me so I can take care of it when I get where I'm going.

Avoid the terry towel and stick with a plush microfiber. Make sure you remove the tags off the towel as well as it can mar the surface. A little goes on a long way with the Quik Detailer, but if you want to be cautious especially on the black paint, use it liberally.

My Maxima has had paint damage fom bird poop. The first time it was on the hood and trunk lid hen7 days old. Had to have both repainted. Now, it has happened again on the hood. Insurance wise, I am afraid to have it repainted again. I might try he McGuires detailer material.

Anyone else having this issue with bird poop?

Talking Yeah

Prevention is the best way although it's not 100% guaranteed. I live in a forested area in the south and I get bird crap almost daily. To prevent most damage wax every 6-8 weeks and quick detail every wash. Daily, when possible, I'll take a hose or a glass of water and rinse it off. Or quick detail it. I have experienced etching and pitting due to our fine feathered friends and it sucks.

Interesting reading, I lean towards the article about the acids.

Bificus, good article. I have a bit of paint that is not orange peel, but seems tarnished in some way. I wonder if this was the cause. I bought it like that since I lovingly wash it once a week with a real sponge and meguiars class. Oh well I guess it will always be there!

Nice thread, boys. Check out my baby. 2013 Maxima with tech and performance package. Tinted windows (12's). 2 x 10" subs in a custom box boomin' in the trunk. Be jealous. And kiss this.

I believe I have the powder coat. And if I could, I'd replace for the gloss. I have the replacement grill not the overlay. The overlay would look cheesy IMO. Now I have a white car so I had to plasti dip the middle grill bracket and some of the edges so it looks clean. It's a great easy to do mod that'll give your Max a much different look than the others in your town.

I have that same one just I have the 4 pc. I have the gloss black. Search ebay you'll find it. I paid 180 for all 4 pcs and couldn't be happier.
And it an upper replacement and lowers are overlays.
Just paint the plastic crap behind the grill black once you take the stock hideous grill out before you put the billet in.

I also like the stock one better than what's available aftermarket. I think the best looking one is the modified OEM grill.
