Spending a good amount of time searching through the threads trying to find an answer to my question, and like usual reading nothing but people fighting with each other because they have different beliefs, I am starting a new post. All i want is answers, I don't want to hear you tell me to search the threads, all i want is a straight up answer. So now time for the Question.
Are Performance chips bad for our 7th Gen Maximas?
If not, What Chips give me the best gains?
I have looked at Bully dog for a little bit, but want to know if it is worth it on a 2010 Maxima. So, Let me hear your different experiences or thoughts on performance chips. I do have an R2C Intake in my Maxima currently that I love, but want to Chip it as well.

 

I am also wondering the same thing, I am looking at the bullydog gt tuner. Any users?

 

Search for the UpRev tune, that's the one I mostly heard great things about when the question came up.

 

Good question curious for some answers too, I always thought bully dog was more for trucks...and i have heard the UpRev is probably the best but no specific details

I have the bullydog gt and it's more of ``seat of your pants hp rather than real actual hp . One of the biggest drawbacks for me is bullydog can't bypass the wot governor . That being said ..you can also adjust idle ...top speed...advance or retard timing +/- 4 degrees and a few other nick nacks. .a canned tune long story short.think I'll try to sell this and get the uprev

 

I would do the uprev if they found a way to bypass the throttle control and keep the cruise control.

 

I totally agree with lambo, for some reason the bully dog doesn't "tune as hard" as it did on my previous qx56, which was night and day difference when it was tuned and not tuned. However, there is a bit of performance improvement with the bully dog on the maxima as I when I detuned the bullydog to take it to the dealership, you do notice a difference.


uprev is worth it if you got more mods for sure and you also get the wot...

 

An Uprev tune is the best option and really the only.

 

I guess i'll speak up for the novice out there....whats exactly is an Uprev tune? Is it a chip, is it a setting, is it a part?
