Cool A/C Blower Motor

I've read posts about the blower motor vs. resistor vs. amps and believe my problem is the motor.

I have a 2012 Maxima. Shortly before the fan stopped blowing, I smelled a hot electrical smell. Now, no matter what temperature I set the climate control to, I get nothing.

Can someone confirm my diagnosis, or am I totally off-base?

The motor would be my 1st choice as culprit.

You could always directly supply 12V to it and see if it powers on, once you locate the wiring connector. The would be definitive diagnosis. Or you could check the resistance of the fan motor to make sure there is continuity there.

I finally took the motor out and have continuity across the two copper pins. I'm reading about 20 ohms.

What's my next option?

I tested the motor with 12V and it wouldn't turn. It bumped at first, like it was trying to turn, but nothing.

I replaced the blower motor with one from Autozone and everything is working now.

BTW, to remove the glove box, there are three screws along the top, three screws along the bottom and two screws inside that need to be removed. Also, the right-hand cover between the glove box and the passenger door must be removed, as well.

Thanks for all the help.
