Exclamation Another P0011 thread

So yeah, I searched for P0011 and saw various threads but they dont offer any definitive solution, just seem to trail off with no meaningful conclusion.

2011 Max, 38K miles. I let my oil go for 4K miles, the ses light came on, had the oil changed, reset the light by disconnecting the neg. terminal (code was P0011 (pulled code at advanced auto parts). All was good for about 1K miles, light came on again, reset it, came on again after 400 miles, back to advanced auto to pull code again today (same P0011). Hmmmmm what to do?

car is running fine, same performance and mileage, should I go to synthetic oil? really want to avoid a dealer trip, anything I can try?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
I value the knowledge/advice on this board.

You can change the oil and use synthetic, couldn't hurt. If the code comes back then you have other issues, then take it to the dealership.

Dealership puts in a syn blend in my car and the change frequency is 5000 miles with no codes coming on.

4000 miles seems a little long for dyno oil/

The change interval for regular oil is 3,750 miles. I myself go longer as I use full synthetic.

I don't think you will find a definitive solution as there are a number of possible causes for this code.

Even though it's a 6th Gen thread it may at least give you some insight into the problem. Most of this would apply to the 7th gen.

Thanks, I had a look at this already.
This car was sold at auction with 32K miles, so it's unclear how well it was maintained. Assuming the worse, I'm going to proceed by dumping a quart of transmission fluid in the oil, letting it run for 15 min, and dump the oil and go to 5-30w Mobile One to see if that will have any affect. Failing that, remove the solenoids and clean them or replace them depending how bad they are, failing that replace the sensors, Thank god I have a mechanic friend who will do this after hours for a reasonable price. Sounds like this could be a pita.
