Antifreeze smell in the cabin

Hi guys,

I have 2013 Maxima SV with 21k miles. Heating has been on for last few days due to extremely cold weather in Chicago. Suddenly, today while driving back home I started smelling Antifreeze. When the heat is turned off it goes away and comes back when it is turned back on. Did not see any leaks when the car was parked and no puddles nor the temperature gauge moved anywhere from the middle . Does this mean the Heater Core is going bad? Any advise would be appreciated.

Maybe could be the sulfur smell that will go away around 30,000 miles or the head gasket recall . And or Bearing , lower engine repair

Antifreeze smell in the cabin during a heating cycle is not normal, and you have a problem that should be covered by your new car warranty. Just don't let the service writer tell you that the smell is normal if it's been cold outside for awhile, or some other dumb *** excuse, as it is not that way in my 09 SV sport.

Correct, its out of normal. I am going to take the car in tomorrow to get it checked out and will keep you posted. Thanks.

coolant smell in the cabin is usually leaking heater core or possibly one of the water lines going to the heater core on the firewall leaking and the smell is getting in
