Wrong wheel alignment

I just got a 4 wheel alignment at Firestone. When I got home and looked at the paperwork, I realized that the specifications were for the 05-08 Maxima and not my 2010 Maxima. I called and spoke to the service advisor who told me I can bring it back in and they can put it back on the machine should I choose, but he said that it shouldn't be a problem because the specifications don't change that much. I know that was for the old body Maxima and not mine. The car rides fine and I don't feel any issues. Should I take it back in or just keep it as is unless I feel something? Thanks.

shouldnt be a problem. ive done dozens of alignments, the specs rarely change from the previous generation of the vehicle. our machine now only goes up to 2010 i believe, so if someone wants an alignment on a 2013 Civic we have to use 2010 specs. never has been a problem

if the steering wheel is centered and it drives straight, dont worry about it

Thanks for the information. Now I can be in peace and not worry about a "wrong alignment".

Is toe the only adjustment for the 7th Gens? That was true for The 4th Gen. I used the string method to set the toe/wheel alignment on that car. Worked great every time.

Do expound on the string method although I can imagine where it might lead...

Pretty easy after the first time. I was very happy with the results. Saves a lot of money if you are working on the front suspension on a regular basis.

Here is a visual guide.

Very interesting. Never seen this before. May have to try this if either of mine start tracking funny. What are the measurements between front and rear for our seventh gen?

I used string alignment on my Spec Miata all the time, it's very accurate. Add a camber gauge and you are set.

I guess you can use this to check alignment if you run into anything nasty.

I expect track width for all 7th Gens is the same. Front and rear were different on the 4th Gens.

Track, front (in.) 62.4
Track, rear (in.) 62.4

I'm assuming that just like the 4th Gens, toe is the only thing adjustable on the front end for 7th Gens. Looks like suspension design has not really changed in 20 years. But that is probably true for most cars.

Interesting. Thanks for the spec help. I would rather do this to save my wheels from being dinged and the fact that I always worry about machines being calibrated correctly and regularly for alignment purposes.
