Replace cupholder lid, 2013 Maxima

I have a 2013 Maxima and in the center console is the cupholder with the door obviously, the door keeps sticking closed though and I would like to replace the entire part, About $60, i cannot get the center console apart though, Anyone have an idea or pics/video on how to disassemble the center area to replace the part? Thanks!

I can't help with the disassembling of the console, but I can tell you mine stuck all the time on my 2013. I got fed up one day and applied a bit of silicone spray to the latch mechanism and worked it about a dozen times. No more sticking.

Best of luck!

I have mine apart right now. From what i know, the only way to get to it is from underneath. Start by dropping the metal piece on the bottom of the shifter, remove the clamp, take the shifter **** off. With a plastic non abrasive tool, lift the wood trim around the shifter. Then there are 3 screws to remove. On each side down towards the petals. You can firmly grip and remove the side covers. On the passenger side front, remove the 2 wiring harnesses. Jump in the back seat and put both front seats forward. With your hands firmly remove the rear ac ducts cover. There is a phillips screw on each side. Remove. You should then be able to slide back and up and take the entire console out. From there, it should be simple to unscrew it from underneath.

It sounds like alot, but trust me its really not. I was surprised how easy to remove stuff in this car is. I took my door panels off in 5 mins.

I took my car to the dealer and he replaced the cup holder assembly under warranty. Remember you have a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty. Why fix it yourself?

Did the same thing. Cup holder lid no longer sticks but i found a screw on the ground after the swap and the lid has a slightly different color when viewed under sunlight...

well they replaced mine under warranty and same thing, the color is slightly different

Im debating buying 2 new pieces that are part of it so it all matches hopefully, its the "Finisher a/t indicator console and the rear cover thats behind it all, parts 96941 and 96913

Its ok, i'm pretty sure the difference in color is due to the fact that the plastic piece is brand new and hasn't been exposed to sunlight. Once its baked in the sun for a bit i'm sure it will change color and match the rest of the plastic around the cup holder lid.
