Did a lot of researching & finally found another option other than the VLED Triton signals. The VLED's are brighter but these aren't half bad & a lot cheaper. About $50 a pair. I really love how the switchback detail using both colors at the same time. Uploaded some pics & video of they look.

I chose same way, to get LED`s cheaper and I`m happy with them,
Got switchback cree samsungs for ~$35(transistors incl.)
And changed rear signals with revers lights

For front turn sigs got from ebay, and installed last summer, still working with no problems(in all extreme weather conditions...-40c and +40c).

What was the install like? Drop bumper and pull head light or what?

 

They look good for sure. I went with the vled switchbacks because I know the quality of there parts and they're sure to last. Longevity would be my only concern with ebay products but someone has had them for a year with no problems so that's encouraging.

 

I removed tire and that black protecting plastic, so I reached trough there easily to switch all bulbs. I think this is easiest and fastest way...

 

Does Maxima require a decoder/resistor to have the led bulb function properly?

 

It depends on the bulb. The VLED tritons do not need them

 

Yes, for these ones need resistors. When I bought was included resistors. Just to attache them need to find good place, bcuz gets really hot when blinking long time your turn signals...

 

I did the same with my tails except I made my turn signal LED white instead.

Reverse Lights


Rear Turn Signal

 

Like rEvil said the easiest way is removing the tire & pulling back the plastic, but you can also turn the wheel inward & pull back the plastic to get inside. Won't have much room to work with, but it works when you're in a rush or not wanting to pull the tire off.

 

BlackMaximus, did you have to get a resistor/decoder with yours? I'm tempted to order them from the link you gave. Was the install super easy as well?

 

What do these look like in the sunlight from a distance of at least 20 feet? These in door garage shots saturate the camera and make it brighter than they are.

 

I'm confused. So the point to this switchback, is your park lights are white until they're used for a turn signal? Or am I wrong on that idea?

 

Yea most people run their parking lights as DRLs if they have switchbacks. That way you can have a DRL but yet still have the amber turn signal when switched.

 

Yeah you'll need a resistor. If you don't you'll have hyper flash.

The install is extremely easy. Just take the tire off & pull back lining & voila. You'll have enough access to install.

Is it just me or does it look like the amber light would be more notable?

 

Pictures don't really do much justice at all. You'd actually have to see them in person. They're just as bright as the amber bulbs but brighter during the night time.

All in all it's what you prefer.
