Are Maximas Meant to be Hossed?

OK, so as I've stated......several times....I'm brand new to Maximas. I'm just getting a feel for driving the CVT. It seems like to get it to perform in any way at all, the RPMs get high, and stay high until you let off. I'm cool with that, but I want to know if these cars and CVTs were designed with this in mind. Can they take the abuse(for lack of a better term)? I used to have a Pontiac with a 3.5L V6 and off the line, it would dust my 2011 CV, but would GET dusted approaching 60-70mph. Are they just meant to start off a lil slow and gain momentum? Are these Maximas designed to be driven aggressively? Some cars like to be driven conservatively and some cars need to be pushed a little. So...

It only does what your foot tells it to do.
You can easily get to 50mph and never go over 2.5k rpm.
You can get to 50 quickly and have the rpm sit at 5k.

Also, no matter what your foot is doing, you won't get full throttle till above 30 mph.
