CVT Transmission Lines

I have a question, I just bought a 2010 Nissan Maxima SV. Do the lines from the transmission run through the radiator like they do on other transmissions for cooling? On mine it appears as if they just loop around on the device in the picture below. Is this correct or did the previous owner do something screwy?

Thanks

To answer your question, the CVT is no different from any other as far as cooling - yes, transmission cooler is built into the radiator with fluid piped into and out of radiator just as a traditional automatic.

The round device you photoed is on mine also, but it is on the driver's side of the transmission, behind the driver's side wheel. Have no idea what it is or what it does.

Transmission Cooler

Thanks CorollaULEV, I plan on putting a small tranmission cooler on it this weekend because I dont want to chance connecting it to the rad and **** that may be in there getting in the fluid.
