iPhone Siri/dictation calling

So i connected my new iPhone 6 through bluetooth and when I try and use dictation (dont use Siri, but it did the same thing) it does a handset pickup as if i'm making a call, so i'm not able to use the dictation. Anyone know of a way to get around it?

On my old deck it used to be press and hold the call button?

I cant confirm with the maxima though -- maybe someone else will chime in wondering this as well.

In my experience I've found that the stock phone calling interface is clumsy and requires too many commands. I have the "Hey Siri" feature on my phone enabled and just keep power connected at all times and it works a million times better than the stock interface, especially when dealing with music since I don't have Nav.

I've used both Siri and dictation for text messages via BT and it always displays as a phone call. Not sure why your dictation doesn't work. Does it respond at all?
